The Great British Bake Off Book Tag

Next week is the final of The Great British Bake Off. I only started watching this show last year but now I’m hooked, and of course it seemed like the perfect time to take part in this tag (although if I was really organised I would have posted it back when the first episode aired. Oh well). I was tagged by The Orangutan Librarian. Thanks for the tag, I had a lot of fun answering the questions for this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books by my Favourite Authors that I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books by my Favourite Authors that I Still Haven’t Read.

One of the things that made this week’s topic such a hard one for me is that when I have a favourite author I tend to binge read everything they’ve released; Marissa Meyer, Samantha Shannon, V.E. Schwab, three of my favourite authors and there’s not one book they’ve released that I haven’t read yet. Still I managed to come up with ten, mainly because my TBR list is that long and that unmanageable.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Enjoyed with Less Than 2000 Ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I Enjoyed with Less Than 2000 Ratings on Goodreads.

Is 2000 a lot of ratings for a book on Goodreads? I didn’t think so and when I first saw this topic on The Broke and the Bookish website I didn’t think I’d be able to come up with five, let alone ten, books that I’d read and enjoyed with under 2000 ratings. So when I went on Goodreads, looked through my ‘Read’ list from both before and after I started blogging, I was surprised to find that I’d read a lot more books than I first assumed with less than 2000 ratings.

Emoji Book Tag

So I hadn’t seen this tag around before, but it seemed like a lot of fun. I don’t tend to use emoji’s much when I text but I loved the idea of fitting books to emoji’s. I was tagged by Astra at A Stranger’s Guide to Novels, you can check out her post via the above link and you should definitely check out her blog while you’re there.

The Emoji Book Tag

The rules for this tag are simple; pick five emoji’s and then pick five books that fit them.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite YA Couples from Books I’ve Read in the Past Year

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. It was a Valentine’s Day themed free pick this week so I chose; Top Ten Favourite YA Couples from Books I’ve Read in the Past Year.

I have a lot of OTP’s and it was a real challenge to narrow it down to just ten. Looking through my ‘Read’ list on Goodreads I saw so many amazing books, all full of amazing characters and amazing relationships; it was nearly impossible to choose. Some of my picks for this week are couples from standalone books or finished series so I know how their stories end, but there are a few from series where the last book is still to be released and I am desperate to find out how it ends, hoping for a happily ever after.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books That are Set In, or Visit, Past Times

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. It was a past and/or future themed free pick this week so I chose; Top Ten Books That are Set In, or Visit, Past Times.

I feel like this week is a bit of a mish-mash of themes. There is a whole lot of different genres mixed in there; fantasy and contemporary, time travel and magical realism. Time travel is, and I’ve mentioned this once or twice before, one of my favourite subgenres of young adult books so I had more than enough to fill this list up. However I have read, and am currently reading, some amazing books set in the past. So this list became a mixture of anything and everything I’d ever read that stepped foot in the past.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The First Half of 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The First Half of 2016.

I have so many books that I cannot wait to get my hands on in 2016 so the only struggle I had with this week’s list was narrowing it down to ten. Most of my top ten this week are next/final books in their series, I tried to pick books that I haven’t already highlighted in previous Top Ten Tuesday posts.

Top Ten Tuesday: New-To-Me Favourite Authors I Read For the First Time In 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is New-To-Me Favourite Authors I Read For the First Time In 2015.

I read a lot of books each year, at the moment it’s just over 200, and while a lot of them are from authors I already know and love there are a few new authors that stood out for me. With so many of my favourite series coming to an end this year (The Lunar Chronicles, Penryn and the End of Days, Splintered) I need new books, new authors and new series to obsess over.
