About Me

Welcome to Reading Every Night; a blog I created out of desperation so I’d have more people to talk with about my favourite books that has become a major part of my life now.

About Me

The Blogger

About Me - Profile PicMy name is Beth (short for Bethany, but no one calls me that unless they’re angry with me). I was born in England, raised in England and am currently living in, you guessed it, England.

I am a big reader, which is probably obvious about me given the topic of my blog, and have been ever since I was given the first Harry Potter book by my parents shortly after its release. When it comes to books I will pick up anything that catches my eye, be it because of the cover or the blurb, but the majority of books I read are young adult fantasy and contemporary ones.

Other than reading my main loves are travel, music, writing when I have the motivation to do so, and baking.

For any more information you desire to know about me you can check out the Get to Know Me Tag I took part in last May.

The Blog

I started this blog simply because I needed people to talk to about my favourite books. I read quickly and my friends took too long to get around to the same books I’d already read in my opinion. So Reading Every Night was born.

I’ve been blogging for over a year now, a mixture of weekly features ā€“ Top Ten Tuesday, Waiting on Wednesday, Standalone Sunday ā€“ books tags and awards, and of course book reviews. There are some travel posts in the mix and I’ve recently started to post some Discussion Topics so feel free to check them out and join the debate.

Favourite Books/Series/Authors I Can’t Stop Gushing About:

  • V.E. Schwab
  • Samantha Shannon
  • The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
  • Patrick Ness
  • Sarah Dessen
  • Kasie West
  • The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
  • Jandy Nelson
  • The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater
  • Sarah J. Maas
  • Rick Riordan
  • Leigh Bardugo

I’m happy to accept review quests from authors and publishers. You can check out my Review Policy for more information and my Review Index to get an idea of what books I have reviewed so far and what information my reviews usually contain.

You can also find me on social media at Goodreads, and there is a Twitter account in the works that will be coming soon.

    1. Yep, lived in England my whole life. It’s really cold over here now, like really, really cold so I’d like to be somewhere else right this minute, maybe a beach somewhere warm šŸ˜€
But your comment really made me smile so thanks. And maybe you could visit England sometime. There’s plenty to see but I’d recommend coming in the Summer, like I said it’s freezing right now.
Yeah I need to make social media accounts, I keep procrastinating on them but it’s on my to-do list šŸ˜€

      1. I’ve been before! My dads from Newcastle so we’ve been to see some games (when Newcastle didn’t suck). I think we’re going again this year to buy stuff for our Etsy shop :]. AND YOU DO YOU, when it’s up I shall followww

      2. I’ve never been to Newcastle before, that’s too far north for me I’m actually closer to London.
Thank you šŸ˜€ my friends have told me to get an Instagram account so that’ll be first on my list, then I’ll probably have to get a Goodreads account for my blog so I can post my reviews there as well šŸ™‚

      3. I have a Goodreads account for me, but it’s seriously disorganised now and I can’t be bothered to sort through everything. I need to create an account for my blog that I can post my reviews on and actually come up with a to-read list I can follow.

      4. Word I hear you. I stopped posting my reviews on Goodreads because I felt like they got lost in the abyss. But I like using it to keep track of what I read/want to read

      5. I definitely need something to keep track of what I read šŸ˜€ I’d be lost without Goodreads TBH
One weekend when I have the time I’ll just create an account for my blog and post all my reviews I have so far, and create a to-read list I’ll actually follow!
