Page to Screen Freebie: Five Adaptations I Still Need to See and Five I’d Love to See

Adaptations can either be hit or miss, but lately there seem to be a lot more hits than misses (or maybe I’ve just learnt to stop judging the films too harshly and accept there will be differences to the source material). I am seriously behind on the TV shows and films I need to watch, my to-watch list is almost as long as my to-read list, so for this week’s topic I’ve picked five adaptations I still need to watch and five books I’d love to see adapted one day (because let’s face it we all want to see our favourite books on the big screen).

Top Ten Rainy Day Reads

I’m finally back to the set topics for my Top Ten Tuesday posts. Being a mood reader I’ve never given too much thought as to what kind of books I’d pick up as ‘rainy day’ reads, but thinking about it for this post the first books that came to mind were fantasy stories (of course) with immersive worlds (so you can put the rainy weather outside out of your mind). A lot of the books that made my list this week probably won’t surprise many people, because in my opinion the best ‘rainy day’ book is one that’s almost comforting to re-read.

The Sunshine Blogger Award Part Three

Another day and another round of answers to the Sunshine Blogger Award questions set for me by the wonderful bloggers who nominated me. The last round of questions I answered in my Sunshine Blogger Award Part Two post delved into my opinions on books, but in this post and with this round of questions I get to talk more about my blog and myself.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

I was tagged by Emily at The Little Book Affair and Eliza at Invokedreverie. Thank you both so much for your nominations, I had a lot of fun answering the questions you set and I hope you enjoy reading my answers.

The Sunshine Blogger Award Part Two

I have some more nominations for the Sunshine Blogger Award sitting in my tags queue so it’s about time I got around to answering a few more of them. If you want to learn more about my general opinions on the worst books I’ve read, or the worst book-to-film adaptations I’ve seen, or get some recommendations for bookish blogs to check out then this is the post for you.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

I was tagged by The Readers Bay and Destiny at Howling Libraries. Thank you both so much for your nominations, I had a lot of fun answering the questions you set and I hope you enjoy reading my answers.

Top Ten Favourite Couples in Books

When it comes to bookish OTPs I have a lot (honestly, who doesn’t?) and because I’ve taken part in Valentine’s themed Top Ten Tuesday posts for three years running now instead of focusing on my all-time favourite couples in books I’ve chosen my top ten from the books I read sometime in the past year. I tried to draw my focus away from re-reads, but there was one that ended up making the cut just because I couldn’t resist featuring this bookish couple.

The Twenty Questions Book Tag

You may have noticed I disappeared for the last two weeks. Where was I? Good question. I’m not sure what happened but I just suffered from a major slump and everything – blogging, reading, life in general – felt like a struggle. Still I’m back now, and slowly catching up on the posts I’ve missed over the past couple of weeks.

And what better way is there to get back into blogging than posting a book tag? Because let’s face it who doesn’t have an opinion on whether hardcovers or paperbacks are better, or on love triangles in general? I do, and I’m certain some people already know the answers to these questions I’m that outspoken about them. I was tagged by May at Forever and Everly. Thanks for the tag May, I had a lot of fun answering the questions for this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Discussion Time: The Benefits of Re-Reading

My to-read list is a mixture of books already released that I want to read, books still to be released that I can’t wait for, and books I loved that I want to re-read. Granted it’s more the former two than the latter one, but I think we all have books on our TBR lists which are re-reads and which probably keep getting passed over in favour of books we haven’t already read.

This year I made a resolution to re-read more of my old favourites, books I’ve been saying I want to re-read for years, and honestly it’s made me wonder why I haven’t made it an aim to do more re-reading before. (That’s kind of a lie, I know why and it’s because of all the shiny new releases I’ve been swayed by).

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Wintery Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Wintery Reads.

I’m not sure if I can say why I picked the books I did this week, why I’d class them as ‘Wintery Reads’ over any other book. Personally though when it starts getting darker earlier and colder every day all I want is to curl up with a book that’s more magical than deadly; so be prepared to see plenty of magical realism, fairytale retellings, and childhood nostalgia on my list this week.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors I’d Love to Meet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Authors I’d Love to Meet.

Ages ago (back in March 2017) I took part in another Top Ten Tuesday topic and spoke about some of the authors I’d been lucky enough to meet and some of the authors I still wanted to meet. Granted as I’ve discovered so many amazing books since then I have way more authors I want to meet, but if you don’t see someone on this list who you think would be an obvious choice for me it’s because I’ve already featured them.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books with Sensory Reading Memories

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books with Sensory Reading Memories.

I’ve been reading for a long time; I picked up the Harry Potter series as a child, I picked up Twilight as a teenager, and I never really stopped picking up books. In all the years I’ve been reading there are some books that stick out so clearly in my mind, not so much because of the story or the writing but because of the memory attached to them. The topic this week is ‘Sensory Memories’, but I’ve chosen to feature my more sentimental memories when it comes to books.
