Courts of Prythian Book Tag

I was tagged in the Court of Prythian Book Tag when A Court of War and Ruin was released, and it’s taken me so long to get around to it that in the meantime Sarah J. Maas has written and released A Court of Frost and Starlight. Given I will be posting my review of the latter tomorrow I figured now was the perfect time to take part in this tag.

I was tagged by Chelle at Chelle’s Book Ramblings. Thanks for the tag Chelle, I had a lot of fun answering the questions for this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Could Re-Read Forever

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I Could Re-Read Forever.

It was actually one of my New Year’s resolutions to get more re-reading done this year, and granted it’s only February but I’m doing pretty well at the moment. So far I’ve re-read the His Dark Materials trilogy and I really hope to pick up the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series soon as well. This week was the perfect week for me to search through some of the old books I read, and loved, and will maybe get around to picking up later this year.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested in Reading

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I’ve Decided I’m No Longer Interested in Reading.

I’m doing something a little different for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday (which you’ll probably have realised very quickly even if I hadn’t told you because there are way more than ten books on my list this week). Back in July last year I set a Mid Year To-Read Goal to try and get through all the books I’d brought, that were sitting on my bookshelves gathering dust, but that I hadn’t read.

I managed to get through a few but nowhere near enough, and with the new year I took the opportunity to sort through everything and decided to do a major unhaul of my books. That’s what this post is about.

The Sims Book Tag

When I was younger I would spent hours upon hours playing the Sims, so much time would go into creating the perfect houses for each of the families I created. Granted I don’t play it at all now, but this tag brought back some fond memories for me. I was tagged by Heather at The Sassy Book Geek. Thanks so much for the tag Heather, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books that have been on my TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books that have been on my TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read.

I almost feel like having an unmanageable TBR list is part of being a blogger. There are so many incredible books out there to discover that I just have to add them to my to-read list, and I have good intentions, honestly. I add books to my TBR list, say I’m going to get around to them soon, but for some reason just never do. Most of the books I picked this week I will get around to one day, but unfortunately I can’t say when that ‘one day’ will be.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Really Liked but Can’t Remember Much About

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I Really Liked but Can’t Remember Much About.

Looking through my old Goodreads ‘Read’ list for this topic I was genuinely surprised by some of the books I’d not only marked as read but rated five stars as well, simply because I had no memory of them. If I didn’t know any better I’d think I blacked out and added them without reading them, and honestly I haven’t ruled that out. Still it did make it very easy to come up with ten books for this week’s topic.

Rainbow Book Tag

Pretty book covers are always going to be a weakness of mine, which I feel most people are well aware of now. The phase ‘never judge a book by its cover’ has never really applied to me and I’ve only discovered a few favourite books of mine after seeing how pretty the cover was. I was tagged by Jacquie at Rattle the Stars. Thanks so much for the tag Jacquie, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Rainbow Book Tag

Rules:

  • It must be the dominant colour of the cover not the spine!
  • If you do not own a book of a certain colour, just choose one that has the colour on it somewhere.
  • It has to be a book you own and/or has to be the exact edition you read (e.g. there are two different covers for Me Before You, you would choose the one you read).
  • Tag some people to do it! Whether they be Bloggers, Bookstagrammers or BookTubers.

Netflix and Books Tag

There are so many TV programs I love, and even more that are on my to-watch list, however I don’t actually have Netflix myself. Still I figured you don’t need to have Netflix to take part in this tag! I was tagged by Reg at She Latitude. Thanks so much for the tag Reg, I had a lot of fun answering these questions and I hope you enjoyed reading them as much. Everyone should definitely check out Reg’s original post and her blog as well while you’re there. Reg is such an amazing person, and she writes some brilliant reviews, among other posts.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books with an … Setting

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books with an … Setting.

Out of this World.

I love reading sci-fi books, not as much as fantasy admittedly but it’s still up there. However I did only recently discover and fall in love with the genre myself so there aren’t many sci-fi books that I’ve really loved; I’ve got a lot more on my to-read list which sound amazing and that I can’t wait to get started on. And that’s what my list is this week; a few books which are perfect for taking that first step into the world of YA sci-fi, and a few which I haven’t read but that I’ve heard nothing but great things about.
