Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books with my Favourite Colour on the Cover.
There are a lot of books that have my favourite colour on the cover. The ones I picked for this week’s theme have just been selected from the books I own, there are plenty more out there I’ve yet to read or that have yet to be released, so I changed the topic to Top Ten Favourite Books in my Favourite Colour.
These are all books I loved, books I’ve already talked about plenty of times before and will definitely talk about more in the future. Chances are you’ve already heard way too much from me about some of these, but prepare for another post featuring them.
No prizes for guessing my favourite colour. It should be very obvious.
“He thinks he’ll be remembered as the villain in the story. But I forgot to tell him that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key. He was the one who let me out.”
– A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
“The world makes things for each place. Fish for the sea, Rocs for the mountain skies, and girls with sun in their skin and perfect aim for a desert that doesn’t let weakness live.”
– Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
“I cannot help but wonder if the thought of saving all those lives and hopes and dreams pales in comparison to the thought of seeing him again.”
“I cannot help but wonder if his desire to see this place ripped to pieces pales in comparison to his desire to see her again.”
– Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
“You’re a storyteller. Dream up something wild and improbable,” she pleaded. “Something beautiful and full of monsters.”
“Beautiful and full of monsters?”
“All the best stories are.”
– Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
“I don’t believe in prayer, but I do believe in magic, and I want to believe in miracles.”
– Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor
“But she wondered if, in moving outside of the natural flow of time, they had forgotten the most crucial point of life—that it wasn’t meant to be lived for the past, or even the future, but for each present moment.”
– Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
“No,” she whispered over those fields. “No, you can’t have this part of me.”
If they tried to take Sam, she’d do anything she could to stop them, but that choice was his. This one was hers.
“I am not your garden,” she said, the words no louder than the thread of her mother’s voice the wind carried.
“I am not one of your pumpkin vines.”
“You do not own what I grow.”
– When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore
“What if it lines up like it did in the Trojan War…Athena versus Poseidon?”
“I don’t know. But I just know that I’ll be fighting next to you.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re my friend, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?”
– Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
“She was a cyborg, and she would never go to a ball.”
– Cinder by Marissa Meyer
“This was what my spirit longed to do, to wander in strange lands. It couldn’t stand being trapped in one body all the time. It had wanderlust.”
– The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
So what do you think? Did you take part in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, if so let me know what your favourite colour is and which of your favourite books feature it on their covers. Does anyone else love blue, and if so are any of the books I featured favourites of yours as well?
Ooh great selection- these all look gorgeous together! And I love so many of the books on here and the quotes you chose 😀 ❤

I absolutely LOVE the blue for the UK Strange the Dreamer cover. I have the US edition but I think the UK one is just so gorgeous!!

The US cover is gorgeous as well but for Strange the Dreamer I prefer the UK edition (it’s rare that happens I’ll be honest!) 🙂

Oh lovely choices Beth and I love that you took your physical copies of books to take pictures, they look amazing. Damn, When the moon was ours looks stunning, I really need that book hahaha 🙂

Thanks so much Marie, yeah when it came to this topic I picked pretty books I owned so I could take pretty photos too. 🙂
When the Moon Was Ours is just as stunning on the inside, trust me on that! 😀

I love the addition of quotes to this week’s theme. I also really like the photography utilized. Some great covers and quotes across the board. I went the lone ranger route (apparently) by going with yellow: http://nerdnarrationblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/08/top-ten-tuesday-books-with-my-second-favorite-color-on-the-cover/

Thanks so much. I figured as well as combining my love of books and the colour blue I could include my love of bookish quotes and pretty photos in this post as well.
Ohh, I haven’t seen any yellow this week yet (fair bit of purple though). Thanks for the link, I’ll definitely check out your post. 🙂 💙

Strange the Dreamer is definitely my favorite blue book cover, the gradient and the blue-gold scheme is just dreamy!

It’s amazing, definitely one of the best covers currently sitting on my bookshelves. Kind of makes me excited to see the actual physical cover for Muse of Nightmares. 🙂

They really are, in fact when it comes to covers in general I don’t think there’s any that can beat Strange the Dreamer! 😀

Oh, I LOVE what you did with this week’s prompt, Beth! The pictures you took are so so pretty. 💙 I think my favorite book out of these When the Moon Was Ours, and also PJO (though I’m more used to the original green cover haha). The UK cover of Strange the Dreamer is absolutely STUNNING, as well as the book itself. And aahh Gemina was slightly disappointing because it didn’t live up to my expectations after Illuminae, but it still was quite good! I’m super excited to read Obsidio.
Great post! ❤

Thanks so much May, yeah I stuck to books I actually owned so I could take some pretty pictures of them. 🙂
When the Moon Was Ours is just gorgeous right? And honestly I’m kind of used to the US cover for PJO as well. 😀
Strange the Dreamer is one of the most gorgeous books I own and oh that’s a shame about Gemina, but I’m pretty much 100% sure you’ll love Obsidio May.
Thanks so much. 🙂 💙

I didn’t get to include any V.E. Schwab in my list this week so I had to include Laini Taylor (it actually took me a fair while to realise I had two of her books on my list this week!)
It’ll be well worth it to have the UK edition. I may be biased because I own it but it’s gorgeous! 😀 💙

ACOMAF is my favourite of the series, I just had to include it, and The Illuminae Files as a whole is incredible.
Thanks so much. 🙂 ❤️

I feel like blue is a good choice, I feel like there is a lot of blue on covers in YA.

Thanks so much. I could have featured the whole of The Lunar Chronicles (and kind of wish I had) and Gemina was actually the first book I thought of for this post. 🙂

It’s amazing right, but then again the whole series is brilliant in my opinion. 😀 Have you read the second and third books yet? I’m sure you’ll love them too, and thanks so much. 🙂

Second yes, though I didn’t like it as much as the first I did enjoy it. I’ve yet to read the third! It is a good series though!

To be honest I wasn’t as much of a fan of the second as I was the first, but I loved Hero at the Fall. 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy that one too.
