Waiting on Wednesday: A Crown of Wishes

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which shines a light on eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.

This week my pick is;

A Crown of Wishes

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi

Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin

Release Date: 28th March 2017

Goodreads

Fans of Roshani Chokshi’s spell-binding bestseller The Star-Touched Queen are in for a treat with EW’s exclusive cover reveal and excerpt from the upcoming sequel A Crown of Wishes. The new novel follows Gauri, the younger sister of the titular Star-Touched Queen, on her harrowing quest for freedom.

When Gauri, the princess of Bharata, is captured by her kingdom’s rivals, she can only find help in Vikram, the cunning prince of an enemy kingdom. Unsatisfied with royal life, Vikram offers Gauri a chance to win back her kingdom in exchange for her battle prowess. They set aside their differences and team up to compete in the Tournament of Wishes, wherein the Lord of Wealth promises a wish to the victor. Every which way they turn new trials will test their wit and strength. But what Gauri and Vikram soon discover is that there’s nothing more dangerous than what they most desire.

After finished The Star-Touched Queen and discovering a companion novel was being released it went straight onto my to-read list despite, at the time, not having a title, cover or blurb. Now it has all three and I am even more excited than I was before. I loved Gauri in The Star-Touched Queen so I can’t wait to see her in her own story.

So what does everyone think; is A Crown of Wishes a must on anyone else’s to-read list or are there any other books that you can’t wait for to be released?

    1. I feel the same. Even before the cover, the burb, the first chapter I was so excited for this book to be released and now I’ve seen the cover and read the blurb and the first chapter I’m even more excited! 😀
Thanks for the link, I’ll definitely check out your WoW post! 🙂

    1. Yes it’s definitely one of the more gorgeous covers I’ve seen to date! The book inside is probably going to be just as good as well if The Star-Touched Queen is anything to go by! 😀
That’s all right 🙂 I hope you enjoy the series!

    1. It wasn’t released that long ago so it’s not that bad, and you’ve brought it at least which is definitely a start! 😀
That’s when I saw it as well and I just knew I had to feature it as my WoW for this week! 😀 I think I like the cover for A Crown of Wishes more than the one for The Star-Touched Queen! 🙂

      1. True! I guess I’ve seen it around so much that I feel like I should have read it by now haha
I like the cover for A Crown of Wishes better than TSTQ’s cover too – and the cover for TSTQ is gorgeous so that’s saying something 🙂

      2. I know what you mean, but in reality I don’t think it’s been much over a month since it was released. Guess it feels that way with hyped books sometimes 🙂
Oh definitely saying something, I can’t wait until I have both of the together on my bookshelves!

    1. I did think this book would be about Gauri’s character, just because her story was the only one still left open by the end of the first book.
I LOVED The Star-Touched Queen so I don’t think I could be more excited for this book 😀 and yes the cover is gorgeous isn’t it! 🙂
