Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I’d Set as Part of my (Fictional) School Syllabus

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is a back to school freebie, so I picked Top Ten Books I’d Set as Part of my (Fictional) School Syllabus.

I didn’t hate high school when I was there so many years ago now, but what I did hate was being forced to pick up books I had no interest in (Julius Caesar anyone?). If I was in charge we would have read pretty much anything else. When I thought of this week’s school-themed freebie the first idea that came to me was setting a syllabus for my own fictional school, so that’s what I did.

Books that Made Me Want to Travel

Tomorrow I am going to be launching a new feature on my blog.

It’s very exciting; both because I haven’t ever done anything like this before and because it’s something I can’t wait to share with you all, but more on my new feature at the bottom of this post. Today is more of an introduction to kick things off. You may be able to guess a little about what my new feature will be around based on the title of this post.

After reading, travelling is one of my main loves. I want to see the whole world and I won’t let anything stand in my way. I’ve already been to some amazing countries, with even more on my must-travel-to list, and a lot of my travel destinations have been inspired by books. Reading inspires me to do a lot and when I read about all these places books have been set, so far away from my own home, I can’t help but want to see them for myself.

Five Stars

Andie has a plan and she always sticks to the plan.

Future? A top tier medical school.

Friends? Palmer, Bri, and Toby—pretty much the most awesome people on the planet, who needs anyone else?

Relationships? No one’s worth more than three weeks.

So it’s no surprise she’s got her summer all planned out too.

Until a political scandal cancels her summer pre-med internship, and lands both her and Dad back in the same house for the first time in years. Suddenly she’s doing things that aren’t Andie at all—working as a dog walker, doing an epic scavenger hunt with her dad and maybe, just maybe, letting the super cute Clark in closer than expected. Palmer, Bri and Toby tell her to embrace all the chaos, but here’s the thing…can she?

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Added to my TBR List Last Year; Five I Will be Reading and Five I Won’t be Reading

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books from X Genre That I’ve Recently Added to my TBR List.

I gave this week’s theme a little bit of a twist, and instead I went for Top Ten Books I Added to my TBR List Last Year; Five I Will be Reading and Five I Won’t be Reading. I’ll admit I’m terrible when it comes to keeping track of the books on my to-read list. Then again that’s what comes of having quarter of my TBR list on one Goodreads account, quarter on another Goodreads account, and half in my head.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant to Read but Didn’t Get to (but Totally Plan to)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant to Read but Didn’t Get to (but Totally Plan to).

I got through some amazing books in 2016, there were a lot of new favourites I could have picked from for my top read of 2016, but even more than that there were so many books I meant to but didn’t get around to released last year. I’d like to say I’ll get around to most of the books on this list at some point during 2017 but then again there are books on my to-read list from 2015 and before then so really who knows when I’ll pick these books up.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Want to Read Before the End of the Year

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I’ve Added To My TBR List Lately.

Instead, however, mainly because my to-read list is a mess, I decided to feature the books I want to read before the end of the year. With less than two months left I’m not sure I’ll get around to all of these but I can at least make a decent start. Besides if I don’t manage to get through all of them before the end of 2016 then they’ll be the very first books on my TBR list for 2017.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite Book BFF’s

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. It was a free pick this week so I chose a Top Ten Tuesday topic from a long while ago; Top Ten Book BFF’s.

The first group of friends I remember reading and falling in love with was Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. I followed their adventures through the seven years they attended Hogwarts and fought off Lord Voldemort and his followers. Ever since then I’ve loved reading any kind of close friendship between two characters, so for this week’s free pick I decided to feature some of my favourite BFF’s from recent books I’ve read.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on my Beach TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books on my Beach TBR List.

For a book to make it onto my summer TBR list there are a few requirements. I prefer standalones because the I don’t have to wait for another book to reach a happy ending, I want there to be a cute romance story, and I want it to be full of sun, fun, travel and happy endings. It’s why most of my summer reads end up being contemporary books. This year I already have way more than ten on my to-read list; all of them perfect for sitting on the beach one day while on holiday, or sitting in my garden when the sun is out and I have nothing else to do all day.
