Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Longest Books I’ve Ever Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Longest Books I’ve Ever Read.

This was a difficult topic for me because it’s rare that I pick up epically long books. There’s just something really intimidating when you see a massive book sitting on your shelves and you know it’s going to be a mission getting through it. Still I managed to come up with ten, though I did cheat a little and feature one that I haven’t got around to yet but that I will be reading as soon as I can.

The Lady Janies Tag

I posted my review for My Plain Jane yesterday, so in my opinion there’s no better time to take part in The Lady Janies Tag than today. I was tagged by Nia at Shades of Paper. Thanks for the tag Nia, I had a lot of fun answering the questions for this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books You’d Mash Together

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books You’d Mash Together.

When I first saw this topic I thought it would be an easy one. I’ve read so many amazing books there are bound to be hundreds I could mash together to create one epic story, but as I started going through my Goodreads ‘read’ list I realised it was harder than I first thought. After all when it comes to all-time favourite books and series of mine, like The Night Circus and the Shades of Magic trilogy, how can they possible get any better?!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite Short Stories

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Favourite Short Stories.

I don’t read a lot of short stories so when I first saw this week’s topic I thought I’d struggle to come up with a couple, let alone ten, books that I could feature. Then I looked through my Goodreads ‘read’ list and realised there were a lot of books that fit the theme; anthology collections, novellas from my favourite series, and even a book or two I managed to read in only a couple of hours.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Fairytale Retellings I’ve Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme was originally a TTT Throwback freebie and even though it was recently changed to Top Ten Books of 2018 (So Far) I’d already drafted this post, so I decided to stick with it.

It’s no secret I love fairytale retellings, I’ve read so many of them and I still have plenty more waiting on my TBR list, so when I saw this was a TTT topic way back before I started blogging there was only one option I was going to pick for this week’s throwback theme. I had to make some very hard cuts this week when choosing my top ten, but I’m confident these are my top ten favourite fairytale retellings.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Plan to Re-Read this Year

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I Decided to DNF too Quickly.

I mentioned this in a previous Top Ten Tuesday post I took part in; I rarely DNF books, and I certainly haven’t DNF-ed enough of them to come up with ten for this week’s theme. Instead for this week I decided to go in the opposite direction, and instead of talking about the books I hated enough to DNF I’m talking about the books I loved enough to re-read.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Kick-Ass Names for Kick-Ass Characters

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Kick-Ass Names for Kick-Ass Characters.

My favourite genre is fantasy, and as well as the names sometimes being hard to pronounce (I know there are a few I’m still pronouncing incorrectly) they’re also pretty kick-ass. Granted names don’t really have much to do with saving the world but an epic name just stands out more, and fantasy is full of epic names.

Discussion Time: How Do You Manage Your TBR List?

Part of being a book blogger, it seems, is having a TBR list so long that you doubt you’ll ever be able to conquer it. There are plenty of different things that make us add books to our TBR list, but before we know it we’ve marked hundreds, maybe even thousands, as ‘to-read’.

From amazing series that have been out in the world for a few years to new releases with insane hype surrounding them there are so many books out there, and most of them end up on our TBR list and soon forgotten about. That’s when the question becomes how do you keep on top of all those books, because if you’re anything like me you’ve forgotten what you’ve added and have tried to mark books as ‘to-read’ more than once.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite Books in my Favourite Colour

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books with my Favourite Colour on the Cover.

There are a lot of books that have my favourite colour on the cover. The ones I picked for this week’s theme have just been selected from the books I own, there are plenty more out there I’ve yet to read or that have yet to be released, so I changed the topic to Top Ten Favourite Books in my Favourite Colour.

The New Disney Princess Tag

Funnily enough my favourite Disney films don’t even have princess in them (The Fox and the Hound and Alice in Wonderland in case anyone was curious). When it comes to my favourite Disney princess through it’s a hard choice between Belle and Rapunzel. I was tagged by Eva at Brilliantly Bookish, and Sophie at Blame Chocolate. Thanks both so much for the tag, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.
