Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books that Awaken the Travel Bug In Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books that Awaken the Travel Bug In Me.

Next to reading and blogging travel is definitely one of the great loves of my life, in fact if it was free to travel I’d never come home, and it doesn’t take much for a book to make me want to drop everything and hop on a plane somewhere far away. There are a lot of books that have inspired me to travel, and I don’t think a lot of these will come a massive surprise because I know I’ve spoke about them all before.

Reading Around the World: Amsterdam

Reading Around the World is a feature that combines my love of travelling with my love of reading. Each month I plan to spotlight either a city I have visited, or a city I plan to visit in the near future, and recommend some of my favourite books set there. After all even if you can’t visit these cities yourself the next best thing has to be reading about them and living the experience through the eyes of the characters.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Unique Book Titles.

When it comes to books the main thing that draws me to them (other than who wrote it when it comes to authors like V.E. Schwab and Marissa Meyer) is the cover. If a book has a pretty cover chances are I’ll immediately pick it up so for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme rather than focus on unique titles, because I largely read fantasy so I have a lot of unique titles to choose from, I decided to focus on books where the title is the cover.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books that Made Me Smile and Cry

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books That Made Me Smile and Cry.

I read a lot of books and most I love, but there are few which have made me want to smile so much I physically can’t hold it in. I find myself sat reading with a massive smile on my face because the story or the characters or the relationships just make me so happy I can’t help but smile. Then there are others which have moved me to tears; the story or the situation or even the writing itself is so emotional I can’t help but cry at the saddest parts. So for this week’s theme I didn’t pick books that made me laugh, instead I picked five that I couldn’t help smiling through, and five that moved me to tears.
