Top Ten Characters I’d Like to Switch Places With

For me this list could very easily be top twenty, or even top one hundred, characters I’d like to switch places with. I read a lot of fantasy books, and sometimes there are worlds I just want to be able to fall into the way I do the stories I read; after all who hasn’t finished Harry Potter and immediately wished for their own letter from Hogwarts. Still I managed to keep my list to ten this week, and no I didn’t include Harry Potter/Hogwarts because I feel that’s kind of a given.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Loved with Fewer than 4000 Ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Books I Loved with Fewer than 2000 4000 Ratings on Goodreads

Now I know the original prompt for this week was books with ‘fewer than 2000 ratings on Goodreads’, but I had to tweak it slightly. Looking through my Goodreads read list I was surprised by a couple of books which were incredible reads, and which people had been hyping up in the blogosphere (how do you think I discovered some of them), that only had circa 3000 ratings. These are all books I really enjoyed, and books I think deserve a lot more attention than they already have.

So add them to your TBR list if you haven’t already.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite Couples in Books

Top Ten Favourite Couples in Books

When it comes to bookish OTPs I have a lot (honestly, who doesn’t?) and because I’ve taken part in Valentine’s themed Top Ten Tuesday posts for three years running now instead of focusing on my all-time favourite couples in books I’ve chosen my top ten from the books I read sometime in the past year. I tried to draw my focus away from re-reads, but there was one that ended up making the cut just because I couldn’t resist featuring this bookish couple.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Most Recent Additions to my TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Most Recent Additions to my TBR List.

I recently did an overhaul of my Goodreads ‘to-read’ list and I got rid of all the books I was no longer interested in reading, but ended up adding even more (some of which I was surprised weren’t already on there, because I’ve been saying I want to read them for ages). The ten I picked for this week’s list aren’t necessarily the ten most recent books I added to my TBR list, but the ten most recent books I discovered and added (for me there is a difference).

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Meant to Read in 2018 but Didn’t Get To

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books I Meant to Read in 2018 but Didn’t Get To.

At the start of every year I have the best intentions when it comes to all the books I’m going to try and read, but then by the end of every year I’ve always fallen short. One of the downfalls of being a mood reader is that I can never stick to TBR lists so I always get to January 1st and find there are a few books still on my TBR list that shouldn’t be there, and I feel like there were more from 2018 than there usually are.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2018

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2018.

Every year when it comes to this Top Ten Tuesday topic I always find myself doubting I’ll be able to come up with ten new-to-me authors to feature; because of many series I love, favourite authors I keep going back, and old books I just have to re-read I don’t dedicate enough time to discovering new authors out there. Maybe it’ll end up being one of my resolutions for this year, to make a conscious effort to discover more new authors.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2019

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2019.

One of the best things about the start of a new year is all the amazing books that are due to be released, and there are plenty in 2019. Already a couple of my most anticipated reads have come out, The Wicked King and In an Absent Dream, but there are still so many still to be released in the first half of the year. It made coming up with just ten for this list impossible, so I included some honourable mentions too.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on my Winter TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books on my Winter TBR List.

Right now it’s all about Christmas, but in my mind the winter season runs from December all the way through to the end of February so expect to see a lot of 2019 releases on this list that I cannot wait to get my hands on. January and February seem to be the best months for book releases but that doesn’t mean I haven’t also featured a few older books which have spent way too long on my TBR list.

Top Ten Tuesday: Looking Back at My 2018 Resolutions

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is a freebie, so I picked Looking Back at My 2018 Resolutions.

Way back in January at the start of this year one of the Top Ten Tuesday topics was on bookish resolutions for the year. Despite not being great at setting and keeping resolutions I came up with ten, so now the year is nearly over I’m going to look back and see how many I can cross off my list. If I’ve managed to cross off more than half then it’s been a successful year for me.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Wintery Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is Top Ten Wintery Reads.

I’m not sure if I can say why I picked the books I did this week, why I’d class them as ‘Wintery Reads’ over any other book. Personally though when it starts getting darker earlier and colder every day all I want is to curl up with a book that’s more magical than deadly; so be prepared to see plenty of magical realism, fairytale retellings, and childhood nostalgia on my list this week.
