The Cramm Awards

I have to admit, before being nominated for this award I never really thought much on my motivations for blogging. It made some of these questions harder to answer than I would have thought they would be. I was tagged by Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books. Thanks so much for the tag Marie, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Three Things that Motivate me to Blog

1. The Joy of It

When it comes down to it the main reason I blog, and am still blogging now, is because I love it.

There is nothing, and I do mean nothing, that I can say I hate about blogging. Sometimes the time management can be a little bit of an issue, and there are days when I don’t feel like blogging at all, but for the most part this is something I love doing. There is nothing that motivates me more than the joy I find in posting reviews, taking part in tags, and of course interacting with the community.

2. The Community

One of the things that keeps me going, even when things are tough, is the community.

The whole reason I started blogging was because I needed people to talk to about books, none of my friends were reading as fast as I was, and I’ve found that in spades through WordPress. Since I started blogging way back when I have met so many people; I’ve received plenty of book recommendations, had unforgettable conversations, and made some incredible friends as well.

3. Spite

It’s a powerful motivator, and definitely one of mine.

Back when I hadn’t been blogging for long, and back when I hadn’t told anyone about my blog, I was talking to my parents and my dad mentioned that, like him, I don’t have it in me to stick with things. He didn’t mean it in a cruel way, just a general observation, but the second he said that I became determined. I was going to prove him wrong and I was going to stick with this blog, and I did.

Three People who Inspire me to Blog

Since I started blogging I have met some incredible people, and there are so many bloggers out there I consider my close friends too. After all we speak every day, and about more than just books as well. However as I can only choose three these are the three bloggers who definitely inspire me to keep going, because they’re honestly amazing people and I’ve loved speaking to them through WordPress so so much;

1. May at Forever and Everly

I always look forwards to seeing May’s posts because they’re full of enthusiasm for what she’s talking about. I definitely credit May with inspiring me to start writing again. All of her posts on writing, full of tips and updates on her own WIPs, made me miss it myself and before I knew it I was writing something for the first time in years.

2. Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books

Marie was one of the first bloggers on WordPress I started speaking to regularly. She is an incredible blogger who has gotten me hooked on so many books, as well the whole of the YA contemporary genre, and she’s the creator of the Souvenirs from Around the World feature which I have had so much fun taking part in.

3. Sophie at Sophie’s Corner

Recently I did a buddy read of Days of Blood and Starlight with Sophie, and I had so much fun talking with her about one of my favourite books. I love all her posts but I especially love how she’s started talking about her hobbies outside of reading because I need some inspiration to kick start me into attempting my hobbies outside of reading as well.

One Thing I Hope will Improve the World

1.  People Never Giving Up and Never Giving In

The UK has had a fair few terrorist attacks, in fact I suppose you could say the same about any country. For a while it seemed like I couldn’t read the news without another one being reported, but what you also see in the wake of an attack is people coming together as a community.

No matter what they do people keep pulling together, supporting each other, and going on with their lives. I think it’s almost comforting to see that we’re not giving in to these people who want to cause confusion and fear and terror.
