Emoji Book Tag

I’ve done this tag before, but given how many emojis there are I can take part as many times as there are emojis left unused. I’m not one for using many emojis, other than hearts and smile-y faces, so I picked some of the more obscure ones out there. I was tagged by Sophie at Blame Chocolate. Thanks so much for the tag Sophie, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

A Book with a Great Sibling Relationship

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

For this one I tried to choose a book with two sisters, and when it comes to books with sisters there is none better than The Sky is Everywhere. Even though Lennie’s sister has died you can still see the close bond the two of them have through Lennie’s memories, poems and her grief over Bailey.

A Book with a Really Cute Animal

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling

Of all the beasts we met in this book I loved the Niffler the most. He’s adorable and a little greedy which reminded me of my own dog, just replace the shiny and sparkly things the Niffler goes after with any unattended food my dog will sniff out.

A Book that Made me Want to Travel

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

Books that have travel elements in are always favourites of mine because they make me want to hop on a plan and experience it all for myself. Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour is the ultimate road trip book, reading it you can’t help but want to see the sights and experience the world the way Amy and Roger do.

A Book I Celebrated the Release of

Lost Boy by Christina Henry

I loved Christina Henry’s dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland, and I had no idea she was releasing a new book until a few weeks after it was actually released. The next day when I stumbled across Lost Boy in Waterstones I was so excited I pulled the most ridiculous face imaginable, and of course brought the book.

“Peter smiled and made me think there was only joy. Even when there was blood he made me think it was only play, until there was so much of it even Peter couldn’t pretend any more.”

A Book to Film Adaptation I Loved as Much as the Book

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The only reason I picked this book up, after having it on my to-read list for so long, was because the film was being released. The book a moving, emotional and heartbreaking story that quickly became a favourite of mine, and luckily the film was just as moving, just as emotional, just as heartbreaking and just as much a favourite of mine.
