Kiss, Marry, Cliff Tag

This is such a fun and unique idea for a tag. I chose nine books at random and, flicking through the pages, picked the first character name I saw. It was very easy to decide who to cliff, harder to decide who to kiss and who to marry. I was tagged by Nicole at Sorry I’m Booked. Thanks so much for the tag Nicole, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

Kiss Marry Cliff Tag

Rules:

  • Put names of characters, written on separate pieces of papers, in an empty jar or a pen holder.
  • Shake the jar.
  • Pull out three pieces of paper in each round and tell us which character you would kiss, marry, or cliff!

Round 1

Kiss Marry Cliff Round One

After what he did in Gemina Jackson Merrick deserves to be cliffed, or considering Gemina is a sci-fi book he deserves to be thrown out of the airlock without a spacesuit. I’m not Blue’s true love so I doubt kissing her will kill me, which leaves Harry Potter as my choice of who I’m going to marry.

Round 2

Kiss Marry Cliff Round Two

I’m not a fan of Theo at all, he made some bad decisions in the Firebird trilogy, and while I’m not the biggest fan of Echo’s character either she doesn’t deserve to be cliffed. Genya is amazing though, and one of my favourite characters from the Grisha trilogy, so I’d definitely marry her.

Round 3

Kiss Marry Cliff Round Three

Jeb was kind of boring in my opinion, and while he wasn’t cruel or evil of the three characters I picked I’d definitely cliff him. I loved Simon in the Darkest Power’s trilogy but when it comes down to it, of all three characters I picked for this round, Annabeth is my favourite and the one I’d marry.

  1. LOL, what a fun tag! I, too, would marry Genya. She’s such a cool and confident character. And wow, I almost forgot about Simon from The Summoning, but yeah, I think I would have loved to kiss him when I was younger haha. And oh yeah, I’d definitely throw Jeb off a cliff. I just genuinely did not like his character in Splintered. Too possessive and moody for my tastes. And hella boring, at that. Jackson Merrick definitely deserves to be sucked out the airlock haha. Great pick for that one haha XD

    1. It was so much fun, and actually easier than I thought it would be for some characters (mainly the ‘cliff’ ones!) Genya is an incredible character, especially in Ruin and Rising, and yes I picked Simon for that round because of the younger me who read The Summoning books! 😀 Jeb really drew the short straw in that round, but although I loved the Splintered trilogy when I first read it looking back, especially in terms of Jeb’s character development, it wasn’t that incredible you know? Ha, it seems like there’s a queue of people waiting to push Jackson off a cliff, or out of the airlock! Thanks Azia. XD

      1. I really need to read Ruin and Rising. I’m so ashamed. I never finished the trilogy 😖 But I really liked Genya in the second book, so it’s good to hear she gets even better in the last book. I mean, I don’t really like many of the characters in Splintered, but I’ve only read the first book. We’ll see how I feel once I’ve finished up the series! 😀 But I’m sure Jeb will still be my least favorite 😂

      2. I’d definitely recommend Ruin and Rising because it was my favourite book of the trilogy. Besides you need to finish out Genya’s character development because she is incredible in the last book! 😀
I’m sure of it too. I almost feel like the most bearable Jeb was for me was in the first book. So I’d say I wouldn’t expect too much to change for him in the next two! 🙂

  2. Hi Beth!
This looks like such a fun tag! I’ve only read Harry Potter and Gemina from your list. I’d absolutely cliff Jackson too haha, and I wouldn’t mind marrying Harry (though Cedric would be my first choice :P)

    1. Oh it was such a lot of fun Sophie. 🙂 Yeah based on the comments I got on this post everyone would like to cliff Jackson, it feels like there’s a queue forming for the honour. Oh if I’d got Cedric in one of these rounds I would have picked him for the marry option, but for me Harry wins out. 🙂

    1. It was such a lot of fun to take part in it. Yes when I got Jackson in one of the rounds I knew instantly who I would be cliff-ing. It was almost satisfying to write his name there! 😀
Ha, yes do it! 😀 I suppose I know one of your answers already for this one. I’ll be looking forwards to seeing the others! 🙂
      That’s all right. ❤

      1. He got what was coming to him in the end, that made me feel a little better! 😀
That’s all right, and yeah any characters you want (I closed my eyes and picked random books, random pages from those books, and then random characters, but you can do it any way you want). 🙂 ❤

    1. Oh definitely. It’s a great book and I actually preferred it to Illuminae but I think I’m in the minority there. I hope you decide to pick up th Grisha trilogy at some point Lashaan, and see I was actually discussing this with my friend and she came up with the main difference. The Grisha trilogy has magic and Six of Crows doesn’t. Six of Crows is more of a more epic, heist story than anything else. 🙂

  5. Oh, YESSS, I’d love to marry Annabeth!! She’s one of my favorite characters in the series — she’s so strong and independent and I just love her???? And aghagahg I jut started the Grisha trilogy, and while I absolutely LOVED Genya, I’m a little hesitant now, after how she’s treating Alina? (I’m on Siege and Storm.) But I have a feeling I’ll like her again!!

    Great post!

    1. Same, like 100% the same. When I got Annabeth in that round there was no other option for what character I’d pick to marry. She’s incredible throughout the Percy Jackson series, and definitely a character I look up to as well.
Ohh, in that case you’ll have to let me know how things turn out for Genya once you’ve finished the series, I think I loved her character the best in Ruin and Rising so maybe it’ll be the same for you.
Thanks so much May! 😀 ❤

Yeah I tried to pick either the downright evil characters for the cliff part of this tag, I felt less cruel that way. With Jeb I guess he just drew the short straw, because the other characters in that round were ones I definitely wouldn’t cliff! 😀
