Unlike my last fall inspired tag this one hasn’t been sitting in my queue for a whole year, and instead of leaving it to sit in my queue until next fall I’ve moved it up my list. After all we’re currently mid-way through fall so it’s the perfect time to post this. I was tagged by Lilly at Lair of Books. Thanks so much for the tag Lilly, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James
After reading the blurb I thought I knew what The Loneliest Girl in the Universe would be about, where Lauren James would take the story, but I was wrong. I was hooked from the beginning, and I couldn’t wait to see what twist would be thrown at me next.
Warcross by Marie Lu
Granted the whole book was incredible, but the ending was something else. As Emika struggled to unmask Zero there one reveal I knew was coming, but another caught me by completely by surprise, leaving me with my mouth hanging open, as the story concluded.
Geekerella by Ashley Poston
Even before I picked up this book I was hearing incredible things about it, and luckily I wasn’t let down when I finally started reading. Geekerella is a classic Cinderella retelling, with a fun story, great characters, and a cute romance you can’t help but root for.
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
It doesn’t get more red, orange and yellow than Illuminae. As well as having a gorgeous cover though, this book is just as gorgeous inside as well. The Illuminae Files is one of my favourite sci-fi series and I am so excited for the release of Obsidio next year.
Tarnished City by Vic James
After the way Gilded Cage ended I was so excited for Tarnished City to be released, and now I’ve read Tarnished City I am so excited for the release of the third book. This is a series that keeps getting better and better, though I don’t know how anything could top the second book.
Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Marissa Meyer is without a doubt one of my all-time favourite authors, ever. I really enjoyed Heartless and loved her Lunar Chronicles series, so of course her upcoming release is at the top of my to-read list. Renegades sounds amazing, and I’m sure it’ll actually be amazing as well.
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Marissa Meyer, comes a high-stakes world of adventure, passion, danger, and betrayal.
Secret Identities.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies – humans with extraordinary abilities – who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

Wonderful answers Beth! Renegades sure does sound like a lot of fun, and it probably will satisfy all your cravings. 😀 Glad to see Illuminae up here too! I really should get my hands on Gemina already, huh? Hahahah

Thanks so much Lashaan. Yes I can’t wait to get started on Renegades, it sounds incredible and just the fact that it’s written by Marissa Meyer means I’m 99% sure it’ll satisfy my cravings. 😀
Oh definitely read Gemini. The Illuminae Files series is one of my all-time favourites and I am so excited for the release of the last book. 🙂

It feels so strange that I have an opinion about almost all of these books?!? XD I LOVE ILLUMINAE AND I NEED MORE. I didn’t enjoy Gilded Cage all that much when I read it as an ARC so I don’t think I’ll be reading the sequel *hides*
I’m really torn about Warcross because the naked hardback is really pretty but also I have heard some things about the author’s writing that reminds me a bit of another author whose writing I found totally boring, plus SciFi isn’t REALLY my world so I’m still on the fence about that!!
I haven’t decided whether or not to get renegade..to be honest I have literally ZERO idea of what it’s about XD
Love this!

Well that’s good to hear. Hopefully your opinion is that you loved them all! 😀 Oh same here, the wait for Obsidio just seems so long doesn’t it. Oh that’s a shame about Gilded Cage but I guess we can’t all love the same books. 🙂
I’d recommend Warcross, but then again I’m a massive fan of Marie Lu’s writing and I do enjoy sci-fi (I mean I’m largely a fantasy fan but I do love sci-fi as well). Either way if you do pick Warcross up I hope you love it. In my opinion the story is better than the cover.
I mean, I’m not 100% sure either, but it’s by Marissa Meyer and that’s all I need to know.
Thanks Esther! 😀 ❤

Lovely answers, Beth! I’m so glad you loved that new Lauren James book, I have it on my TBR and have NO idea when I’ll get around to reading it, but… I will eventually, and I can’t wait 🙂 I’m also so, so excited for Renegades, it sounds SO GOOD and I can’t wait to read more of Marissa Meyer’s books 🙂

Thanks so much Marie. 🙂 Yeah Lauren James’s new book was amazing. I’m sure you’ll love it as well and hopefully you’ll find the time to get around to it soon. I reckon it’ll be well worth the wait for you. Oh same here. I feel like I’ve been waiting for Renegades for ages, but we’re so close to the release date now. 😀

Renegades sounds fantastic! It’s a book that I definitely need to read, as it sounds like something I would enjoy immensely. I still need to finish The Lunar Chronicles, I plan on reading Scarlet this or next month. 😀 Marissa Meyer writes such amazing stories and I can’t wait to read more from her!
Thank you for tagging me Beth! ❤ 🙂

It really does, and it’s by Marissa Meyer so you know it’s going to be amazing as well! 🙂 Oh I really hope you manage to finish The Lunar Chronicles soon Anna, that’s a series I thought got better and better so you’ve really still got the best to come. Yeah Marissa Meyer is one of my auto-buy authors for that reason alone! 😀
That’s all right. I’ll be looking forwards to seeing your answers for these questions. 🙂 ❤️

Well, I do already own both Scarlet and Cress and I do plan on reading at least those two before the end of the year. So I should be done with the series relatively soon! 😀

So it’s just a matter of finding the time to get around to them then. 🙂 Here’s hoping it’s soon, the end of the year is coming up fast and actually I have a fair few books I need to get around to still. 😀

Thanks for doing the tag! The Lonliest Girl in the Universe has been on my mind a lot lately. I wasn’t sure it would be that good – like you I thought I knew where things would go based on the synopsis but everyone says it’s amazing!

That’s all right. 🙂 I thought The Loneliest Girl in the Universe was an incredible book. It’s not something you can judge based on the blurb because it goes in a completely different direction and you end up with a story you’d never have expected. I loved it! 😀

I’ve requested an ARC but Harper Collins is a very difficult one to time my requests. If I don’t get it I plan to pick it up when it’s released! It comes out the day before my birthday so perfect timing!

Oh I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Shanah. 🙂 Still even if you don’t get an ARC sounds like it’ll be a perfect birthday gift for yourself. 🙂

I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Loneliest Girl in the World and how it’s a lot different than what the blurb says. I’m so excited to finally pick it up and I loved your answers 🙂

It’s definitely different from what the blurb says. I went into this book expecting one thing and ended up with something completely different but completely amazing as well. I really hope you enjoy The Loneliest Girl in the Universe as well Rebecca, and thanks. 🙂

Hello Beth! I’m glad to see Illuminae on this list- yes I agree that the cover is so amazing!!!
I am near the end of Gemina right now. So far it doesn’t feel as epic as Illuminae but this book has a lot of unexpected twists and turns as well! I am already looking forward to Obsidio 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah when it comes to Fall coloured covers Illuminae was just an obvious choice. It’s so pretty as well. 🙂
Oh that’s a shame about Gemini, but you’re still enjoying it overall right? I’m sure there are still plenty of twists to come, and I’m even more sure that Obsidio is going to be EPIC! 😀

I am almost done the audiobook for Gemina (just 30min left!) I think I am enjoying it overall, though it was a slower read/listen compared to illuminae 🙂 yes I am sure Obsidio is going to be epic!!!

Oh that’s great to hear. 🙂 I actually think I enjoyed it more than Illuminae but I know Obsidio is going to be the best of the three! 😀

Oh I see! I like Hannah, Nick and Ella but they don’t captivate me as much as Kady, Ezra and especially Aidan! Haha I think I mostly just miss Aidan (though he does come back for a bit at the end :’) ) Yes I am looking forward to Obsidio!!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh yeah AIDAN was one of the main things I missed about Gemina I mean we got a little of him in the second book but it wasn’t enough in my opinion. 🙂

Yes, Aidan is awesome! I have a feeling that there will be more of him in the 3rd book!
Although I liked the audiobook performance, I get the sense that there are lots of illustrations in Gemina that I missed out on haha. I might have to read the print version some time 🙂

I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🙂
Yeah there were some incredible illustrations. Personally I think the books themselves are gorgeous, it’s not just the illustrations but the way they’ve been formatted.

Thanks for the tag! The questions seem quite interesting, so I am curious to see if I can come up with answers. You seemed to do well, although I haven’t read too many of your choices. Gosh … so behind on all my reading … it’s ridiculous!

Thanks, and hopefully you’ll be able to catch up on your reading soon. Still I know the feeling, there are always so many amazing books out there to be read and not enough time to get through them all! 🙂 ❤️

EeeeK! awesome answers Beth! I’m so tempted to read my copy of Warcross but I know I need to read the Legends trilogy first *sobs* haha! you are now the 2nd person I’ve seen say great things about The Loneliest Girl in the Universe & of course I trust your opinion most so into the TBR it goes. I have not yet read Tarnished City since its pub day isn’t til Feb 2018 here in the U.S. but CANNOT wait to get to it when it does. Last but not least…HELL YEA I’M READY FOR OBSIDIO!!!!!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

Thanks so much Lilly. 🙂 Oh I’d say go ahead and read your copy of Warcross, then you can start on the Legend trilogy (I was going to wait until I’d read The Young Elites series before starting Warcross but I never did). It’s brilliant, and so is The Loneliest Girl in the Universe. 😀 Definitely read that when you get a chance. I’m sure you’ll love it.
Oh my god I can’t imagine having to wait that long for Tarnished City. It was one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I couldn’t wait to dive right in. Oh god Obsidio is going to be epic isn’t it? Counting down the days until that’s released that’s for sure! 🙂 ❤️
