Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event which aims to shines a light on eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.
Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West
Release Date: March 27th 2018
Everyone knows Abby Turner is in love with her best friend, Cooper Wells. Including Cooper Wells. But despite what people tell her, it doesn’t affect their friendship. And she’s practically over it, anyway. What she really can’t get over is when her boss at the local museum tells her that her paintings lack heart.
Art is Abby’s passion and she hopes her future as well. She is determined to change his mind and earn her way into the upcoming exhibit at the gallery. So along with her family’s help, she compiles “The Heart List,” a series of soul stretching experiences that are sure to make her a deeper person and better artist in six weeks or less. When Cooper decides to complete the list along with her, she realizes this list is expanding her heart in more ways than one. Maybe she needs to start another project.
Love, Life, and the List is about a girl who, in an effort to bring more emotional depth to her art, compiles a list of soul-stretching experiences to complete with her best friend—a boy she also happens to be in love with.
This is the first in a set of three standalone books with crossover characters.
It’s been a while since I featured a contemporary book like this as my Waiting on Wednesday pick; a light-hearted book with a cute romance and a fluffy, feel-good story. Kasie West is one of my all-time favourite YA contemporary authors, I’ve read the majority of her books now and there’s not one I’ve rated lower than four stars.
Love, Life, and the List sounds like a classic Kasie West book, but the part that grabs me the most when it comes to this is the fact that it’s the ‘first in a set of three standalone books with crossover characters’. In my mind that practically makes it a series and I’d love to see more series in the contemporary genre.
What do you think of Love, Life, and the List? Is it a must on your to-read list, or are there any other books you can’t wait for the release date of? Let me know in the comments and let me know if you took part in this week’s Waiting on Wednesday as well.
I feel like Kasie West writes TONS of books – she releases at least two books a year? It’s crazy. I do want to read all of them though, especially this one. The best friends turning into more trope is one of my favorite as well so I’m eager to get to that book someday! ❤ Which one is your favorite Kasie West book, so far? 🙂

She really does, it’s incredible and I really don’t know how she does it but I am certainly not going to complain. 🙂 I love her books and yeah this one sounds really good. ❤
So far my favourite is P.S. I Like You, which is actually the very first one by her I read. What one is your favourite? I feel like I know the answer to this, I have one in mind that I think it could be but now I wanna see if I'm right! 😀

I haven’t read any of her books except for The Distance Between Us, so far… I can’t choose a favorite ahah, but…which one do you think would suit me best, then? 😀

That wasn’t even the one I was thinking of. For some reason I thought it would be On the Fence, but if you’re asking for a recommendation I’d say P.S. I Like You because it’s my fave! 😀

Honestly she’s one of my auto-buy authors now too. All I need to see is her name on a book and I know it’s one I just have to add to my to-read list! 😀

Hello Beth!
I haven’t read any of Kasie West’s books yet but this sounds like an interesting one! And that is awesome that it’s going to be a series (I can only think of a few contemporary series off the top of my head?) I also love that it is about art! Seems like it will be a fun read and I will keep my eye out for this one 🙂

Same here actually, my favourite by her is P.S. I Like You but I wasn’t as much of a fan of By Your Side. I still really enjoyed it don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped it would be.
I only discovered it recently myself, I always need a Kasie West book on my to-read list for when I need a fluffy contemporary! 🙂
