The Blogger Aesthetic Award

Bloggers are (let’s just be honest here) the absolute best. There’s so much diversity and personality and creativity in this community—and what better way to celebrate those things than by spending the next twelve hours of our lives hunting down and collaging the images that best reflect our individual awesomeness?

Ever since I saw this tag when it was created and posted on Liam at Hey Ashers! blog I’ve wanted to take part, and now I’ve finally got around to it. I was tagged by Diana at Diana Prince Reviews, Fadwa at Word Wonders, and Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books. Thanks so much for the tag everyone, I had a lot of fun with this one.

The Blogger Aesthetic Award

Rules:

  • Collect any number of images that you feel represent you as a person—your personality, aspirations, favourite things, anything at all that makes you you.
  • Put your chosen images together into a collage of whatever size and shape you find pleasing.
  • Share your masterpiece with everyone, in all the places.
  • Maybe nominate other bloggers as a way to tell them, “Hey, you, I think you’re awesome, and we should celebrate that awesomeness.”
  • Share these rules (and maybe the below tips, if you’re feeling helpful).

Tips:

My Aesthetic:

Blogger Aesthetic

Tsundoku
(n) The act of buying a book and leaving it unread, often piled together with other unread books.

Books are a major part of my personal aesthetic, because reading is a major part of my life. Winnie the Pooh was the first story I fell in love with as a young child, but it was J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series that changed my enjoyment of reading to an all-consuming love. Through reading I discovered blogging and through blogging I’ve discovered the very best books, and the very best people.

Fernweh
(n) An urge to travel even stronger than wanderlust.

Travel is another great love in my life; I want to see the whole world, or as much of it as I can. My favourite cities so far are Amsterdam, Rome, New York, San Francisco and London. London is a city close to my heart; I work in the city and there’s still so much I want to see and discover.

My aesthetic also represents my love of music – I always have to have something playing on my iPod when I leave my house – nail polishes – I try and make the time to paint my nails with new colours at least once a week – and baking – granted it’s been a while since I last baked but I still love it.

  1. Ah I love this award. Seeing everybody’s aesthetic board is such a treat! I especially love yours. The pastel color scheme is brilliant. We share so many of the same interests. Music, travel, books, and baking keep me alive and kicking haha. So lovely to see that they are a part of your life, too 😀 I would love to do so much more travelling once I have the money! London is next on my list ❤

    1. I’ve loved seeing people’s aesthetics for this award too, and it was great fun taking part. Thanks so much Azia, book is obviously a big love of mine, and so is travel though I can’t travel as much as I read (if only). I want to try and get back into baking, it’s been a while since I last made anything. 🙂
Oh I hope you make it to London one day soon Azia, it’s a beautiful city and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do. 🙂 ❤️

      1. I wish we could travel as much as we read. But I guess, for now, books will be our main mode of transport! 😀 And I know the feeling. I haven’t baked anything in months. It’s killing me 😦
        I’m definitely sure I will! ❤ 😀

  2. Oh Beth, I’m SO happy you did this, I love your aethetics so, so much, they’re gorgeous and I feel like they represent you so well – well, from what I know about you 🙂 I love nail polishes so much just as well, even if…I’m been a bit lazy for now and I haven’t painted them in so long, I love playing around with colors and everything! ❤

    1. Thanks so so much Marie! 😀 ❤ I had so much fun with this tag so thanks for tagging me. 🙂
I think it represents me pretty well too, I spend so long on Pinterest finding the perfect images, and changed me mind so many times on what I wanted to include. Basically this was one of the longest posts I think I've ever published.
I'm being lazy at the moment, my nails are clear currently, but it always makes me happy to paint them. I love coming up with different colour combos.
      Thanks again! 😀 ❤

      1. Oh I get it – it’s SO hard to find the perfect images. Sometimes I want to re-do my aesthetics, I think I’ll come up with something different every single time ahah. 🙂
        You’re welcome! ❤ ❤

      2. I always end up saving more images than I need. For my book aesthetics in my other post I had between thirty and forty images for each book/character, and in the end I only used eight!
Why not re-do and come up with something different? There’s always a lot more to use as individuals than we can put in a handful of images. 🙂

  3. I love this so much, you did a lovely post. ❤ Beautiful pictures and I love Winnie the Pooh. My parents actually nicnamed me Pooh when I was a child because I loved it so much and I still do. They still call me that too and I still respond to it.

    1. Thanks so much! 🙂 ❤ I tried to pick the very best pictures for this aesthetic, and I spent so many hours scrolling through Pinterest trying to find them. 🙂
Oh that's so cute. I think Winnie the Pooh is something so many people loved as a child, and actually it's still something I love today like you do. 😀

      1. You’re welcome! 😁 Oh I would do that too, I love Pinterest!!!! It’s amazing what they have on there. Such lovely pictures. Yes I really like that nickname, I think it’s cute too. 🤗 I still have my baby blanket of it somewhere that has Pooh on it with fringes at the edges. It’s the cutest but I have it packed up somewhere from my last move I did.

      2. Sometimes you can almost enter a Pinterest black hole. The things you discover when you click on various images can lead you somewhere new and before you know it you’ve spent hours on the site and are looking at an image completely different to the first one you clicked on. 😀
That’s what happens to me anyways.
Oh that is really cute. The only things I have that are that old are some of the fluffy toys. I have a Tigger that I got from Disneyland Paris when I was seven. 🙂

Oh and I relate to you so much about the tsundoku part!

    1. Thanks so much Sophie. I spent so much time finding pictures for this aesthetic, but it was all worth it in the end! 😀
Painting my nails never fails to make me happy, and it’s the same with travelling. Yeah this is a great way to learn more about bloggers.
Ha, if I had to pick one word that defines me it would definitely be tsundoku! 😀 ❤

    1. Thanks so much Lilly! 😀 ❤ I really do love working in London. It's a long commute, I'm on the train every day for around three hours, but it's more than worth it to be in the city every day.
Painting my nails always cheers me up, and I definitely will. I want to start baking again very soon so hopefully there'll be some pictures I can post for you all. 🙂
