Waiting on Wednesday: Renegades

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event which aims to shine a light on eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.

Renegades by Marissa Meyer
Release Date: November 7th 2017

Renegades

From #1 New York Times-bestselling author Marissa Meyer, comes a high-stakes world of adventure, passion, danger, and betrayal.

Secret Identities.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice.

The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies โ€“ humans with extraordinary abilities โ€“ who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.

Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justiceโ€”and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

This is a book that has been on my to-read list since before it had a cover or a full blurb, since all it was was a title with an author and all I needed to see was that it was written by Marissa Meyer to know Renegades was going to be at the top of my all my lists in the run up to its release.

Now the cover and blurb have been revealed and I am even more excited about this book. Renegades sounds beyond amazing, and if her past books are anything to go by I know I’m going to love this one as much as I have everything else Marissa Meyer has released.

What do you think of Renegades? Is it a must on your to-read list, or are there any other books you can’t wait for the release date of? Let me know in the comments and let me know if you took part in this week’s Waiting on Wednesday as well.

  1. I didn’t know Meyer has another book coming out and NOW I’M EXCITED! This, especially, sounds right up my alley with the whole hero vs. villain thing it has going on. And such a beautiful cover too – I’m hoping the world-building will be just as futuristic as the cover looks like. Great choice, Beth. ๐Ÿ’•

    1. Oh I feel like I’ve been waiting for the release of Renegades for ages! Since before it had a cover and blurb even. But yeah it sounds like it’s going to be a great book right? I’m sure it will be fantastic, it’s written by Marissa Meyer so it’s almost a certainty in my opinion. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It sounds amazing doesn’t it, and compared to how long I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book it’s not too much longer to go until it is released! ๐Ÿ™‚
Heartless is a good read, not as good as TLC but I think you’ll really enjoy it May, and yeah Renegades sounds right up my alley as well! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. So far with all the books I’ve read from Marissa Meyer (that’s just Cinder, Scarlet, and Heartless) she is definitely a writer that I would buy from. Great pick for this weeks WoW. I’m excited for this one!

    1. She’s definitely one of my auto-but authors. As soon as I get my hands on one of her releases I have to start it right away. ๐Ÿ˜€
Do you plan to finish her Lunar Chronicles series Gretchen? I’d love to see what you think of the other books you’ve yet to read. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I haven’t even finished the Lunar Chronicles but I already know that I’ll read anything written by Marissa Meyer. She’s a fantastic author who really know how to develop her characters and to provide us with an engaging plot from beginning to end! I’m so excited for this one, too, Beth! I have to finish up her series before reading this one! Nice pick for this week ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Oh Azia you really need to finish The Lunar Chronicles in that case, it’s one of my favourite series and I feel like you still have the best to come (I say this because regardless of where you are in the series each release is better and better!)
But yes Renegades sounds amazing, and the fact that it’s by Marissa Meyer lets me know it’s going to be amazing as well! ๐Ÿ˜€ She’s one of my auto-buy authors so anything her name is attached to is a must have for me.
Thanks Azia! I hope you enjoy the rest of TLC books you still need to get around to. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค๏ธ

So excited for this one Beth, I love her characters so much i haven’t even toughed my copy of Wires and Nerves lol smh. I just didn’t want that to be the only book I had left from Marissa LOL! now that this one has a date, I can read my Wires and Nerve with something to look forward to after *oddball* ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Marissa Meyer is one of my auto-buy authors forever. Seriously even with no title, no blurb and no cover I’d still hand over money for anything her name is attached to! Renegades sounds brilliant, and honestly after TLC I’m kind of interested in where she’ll take a new series. Well Wires and Nerve volume two is being released next January, so you still have that to come and that means you’ll be able to read Renegades when it’s released right? ๐Ÿ˜€

      1. I am defffff reading Renegades when it gets released! it’s right up there with Schwab & just like I ditched everything to read Our Dark Duet, I will do the same for Renegades LOL! Oh & that does give me some time then to read Wires and Nerve. I loved Marissa when I read TLC but then I met her at a B&N signing & she stole my <3! haha I can listen to her tell a story any day ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Schwab, Meyer and Samantha Shannon have to be my three ‘drop everything to start reading immediately’ authors.
Ohh I’ve never met Marissa Meyer but I’d love to one day. I have to hope she makes a trip to London soon! ๐Ÿ˜€
