Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is a fandom freebie, so I picked Must Have Merchandise for Every Harry Potter Fan.
I don’t really belong to many fandoms, and while I could have used this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic to talk more about my favourite books I feel I do that more than enough. By now everyone knows how much I love certain series and there’s only so much I can say about them without repeating myself. So I went back to the first fandom I belonged to, and the one I am still in now.
The Complete Book Collection
You probably still have the very first copies you brought on your bookshelves, spines cracked and pages falling loose from having read them so often. However you’ve either got or want more one edition; be it the Illustrated Editions or the 20th Anniversary House Covers you’re waiting for the release date of.
The Hogwarts Library Collection
Speaking of books it isn’t just one to seven of the original Harry Potter series – from Philosopher’s Stone to Deathly Hallows – but everything in between. You’d like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages, and Tales of Beedle the Bard from the Hogwarts Library Collection sitting on your bookshelves besides the original series.
Harry Potter Inspired Candles
Bookish candles are my favourite thing at the moment, and obviously there’s nothing better than a Harry Potter scented one. You may not have got your Hogwarts acceptance letter when you turned eleven but you can still make your room smell like Flourish and Blotts or The Burrow.
By now most people know what Hogwarts House they would have been sorted into, it’s likely the reason you joined Pottermore, and it’s a perfect excuse to buy Harry Potter gifts targeted to your House. From Hufflepuff cushions, to Ravenclaw scarves, to Gryffindor hoodies, to Slytherin notebooks. Everything you can think of has your House on it somewhere.
Funko POP Figures
There is probably one for every character in the Harry Potter world, and this includes Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so you’re bound to be able to find your favourite character. Then once you have your favourite character you can buy the rest, after all collecting them is half the fun.
Time Turner Necklace
Hopefully you won’t need to use yours to turn back time and save a hippogriff from the axe and an innocent man from the dementors, because if you do I don’t think these would do the trick. However despite that they’re still gorgeous, and a great way to showcase your fandom whenever you wear it.
You probably won’t be able to do any real magic but you can still get a small part of it by getting your own wand, and of course you’d want to find your favourite character’s be it Luna Lovegood or even Voldemort himself.
So maybe this isn’t quite merchandise in the same sense the rest of the items on my list this week are, but when I first read the Philosopher’s Stone I loved the descriptions of all the sweets Ron and Harry brought on the Hogwarts Express, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Well now you can finally discover for yourself what Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans really taste like.
I have yet to find a notebook I haven’t loved, and anything Harry Potter related is always my favourite of favourites. Instead of writing shopping lists with these notebooks from Literary Emporium you can pretend you’re making notes for your Hogwart lessons.
Hogwarts Acceptance Letter
Now I think we need to accept we’re never going to get into Hogwarts, but that’s no reason to say you can’t get your very own acceptance letter.
So what do you think? Did you take part in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, if so let me know what you picked for this week’s themed free-for-all, or what Harry Potter merchandise you’d love to own.
