Top Ten Tuesday: Must Have Merchandise for Every Harry Potter Fan

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s theme is a fandom freebie, so I picked Must Have Merchandise for Every Harry Potter Fan.

I don’t really belong to many fandoms, and while I could have used this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic to talk more about my favourite books I feel I do that more than enough. By now everyone knows how much I love certain series and there’s only so much I can say about them without repeating myself. So I went back to the first fandom I belonged to, and the one I am still in now.

Top Ten Tuesday

The Complete Book Collection

You probably still have the very first copies you brought on your bookshelves, spines cracked and pages falling loose from having read them so often. However you’ve either got or want more one edition; be it the Illustrated Editions or the 20th Anniversary House Covers you’re waiting for the release date of.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Covers

The Hogwarts Library Collection

Speaking of books it isn’t just one to seven of the original Harry Potter series – from Philosopher’s Stone to Deathly Hallows – but everything in between. You’d like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages, and Tales of Beedle the Bard from the Hogwarts Library Collection sitting on your bookshelves besides the original series.

Hogwarts Library Collection

Harry Potter Inspired Candles

Bookish candles are my favourite thing at the moment, and obviously there’s nothing better than a Harry Potter scented one. You may not have got your Hogwarts acceptance letter when you turned eleven but you can still make your room smell like Flourish and Blotts or The Burrow.

Harry Potter Inspired Candles

House Memorabilia

By now most people know what Hogwarts House they would have been sorted into, it’s likely the reason you joined Pottermore, and it’s a perfect excuse to buy Harry Potter gifts targeted to your House. From Hufflepuff cushions, to Ravenclaw scarves, to Gryffindor hoodies, to Slytherin notebooks. Everything you can think of has your House on it somewhere.

House Memorabilia

Funko POP Figures

There is probably one for every character in the Harry Potter world, and this includes Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so you’re bound to be able to find your favourite character. Then once you have your favourite character you can buy the rest, after all collecting them is half the fun.

Funko POP Figures

Time Turner Necklace

Hopefully you won’t need to use yours to turn back time and save a hippogriff from the axe and an innocent man from the dementors, because if you do I don’t think these would do the trick. However despite that they’re still gorgeous, and a great way to showcase your fandom whenever you wear it.

Time Turner Necklace

A Wand

You probably won’t be able to do any real magic but you can still get a small part of it by getting your own wand, and of course you’d want to find your favourite character’s be it Luna Lovegood or even Voldemort himself.

Wands

Honeydukes Sweets

So maybe this isn’t quite merchandise in the same sense the rest of the items on my list this week are, but when I first read the Philosopher’s Stone I loved the descriptions of all the sweets Ron and Harry brought on the Hogwarts Express, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Well now you can finally discover for yourself what Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans really taste like.

Honeydukes Sweets

Notebooks

I have yet to find a notebook I haven’t loved, and anything Harry Potter related is always my favourite of favourites. Instead of writing shopping lists with these notebooks from Literary Emporium you can pretend you’re making notes for your Hogwart lessons.

Notebooks

Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

Now I think we need to accept we’re never going to get into Hogwarts, but that’s no reason to say you can’t get your very own acceptance letter.

So what do you think? Did you take part in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, if so let me know what you picked for this week’s themed free-for-all, or what Harry Potter merchandise you’d love to own.

  1. LOVE this post! Didn’t know about the 20th anniversary House editions?! Those look incredible!

I don’t have my own wand, which I am still regretting when I came across a wand shop that had a perfect replica of Hermione’s wand at my local Renaissance Festival and I didn’t buy it!

But I intend to buy a Ravenclaw tie and scarf at Comicpalooza this year and also (hopefully) find that wand at the next Ren Fest…

Urgh, I just love Harry Potter! I just finished listening to all the audio books and it was a great way to experience Harry Potter again. ❤

    1. Thanks so much Bridget. Well you’ve still got time to pre-order them if you like, I’ve had my copies pre-ordered for ages now and I am so excited for the release date! 🙂
I don’t either, most of the merchandise I featured on this list is merchandise I still want. I’m a Hufflepuff so I want to get my own version of Newt’s scarf from the Fantastic Beasts movie. I really loved that one, and oh I hope you do manage to get a wand in that case.
Same here, I don’t have the audio books so I settle for just reading my paperbacks over and over again! 😀 ❤

  2. Is it sad that I already own 6/10 of the things on this list? xD
Those notebooks are gorgeous, and I can’t wait until the house covers are released ❤
Also, I'd never even heard of bookish candles before – I'll definitely have to get some of those!

    1. I wouldn’t say it was sad, more a sign that you love Harry Potter so much, which lets face it who doesn’t right?
No neither can I, I already have my house cover on pre-order just waiting for the release date.
Definitely do, I love candles and I love books so these are really the best of both worlds! 😀 ❤

  3. Ironically I’m currently burning a Hogwarts candle in my room as I read this post 😂. I love this so much, Beth! While I don’t have a wand or an acceptance letter (I so need to get both and always eye the wands when I’m in Barnes and Noble.), I do have a time turner necklace, pop figures, and one candle. Also, a Ravenclaw shirt and sticker (because I have to represent my house). And you know I so want to get the 20th anniversary edition! Beyond those, I’ve been eyeing the newish UK hardcovers that are really pretty 😍. I still only have my old paperback editions that are falling apart lol. Anyway! This is such a great list and I loved reading it. ♥

    1. Ha, that is ironic. I have a few bookish candles, no HP ones at the moment, but I’m not burning any of them for some reason. Thanks so much Melissa, and actually I don’t have many of the items on this list either, this is more of a shopping list for me than a TTT list. I really want one of the time turner necklaces, and I have a Hufflepuff cushion (representing my house there).
I’ve pre-ordered the 20th anniversary edition for my house. I actually got one hardcover and one paperback because I couldn’t decide which I liked better! 😀
Yeah my paperbacks are falling apart as well, and one of my hardcover copies as well!
Thanks again Melissa, I’m really glad you liked this list! 😀 ❤

      1. That’s how I was when I first got any bookish candles, I never wanted to burn them. But then I gave in because they smelled so good. I have a Ketterdam one that smells like coffee and I’m obsessed with it. 😍
Well, it’s a great shopping list because it’s Harry Potter themed. And I got my time turner necklace for a dollar through this website called Wish. I’m not sure if they shipped to the UK but if they do you should definitely check it out because I’ve seen a lot of HP stuff on there for cheap. 😊
I still need to pre-order mine! I’m waiting until I get paid so hopefully by the end of the month.
I kind of don’t mind that mine are falling a part only because when books fall a part it means they’re loved. 😊
        You’re welcome, Beth!! ♥

      2. I have some I’m going to start getting through soon. I just keep forgetting to light them for some reason, but I guess I need to start getting through them at some point or another.
Oh even if not there are plenty of places I can get it for cheap from the UK, the one I got for my friend was only about £4 which isn’t a lot actually.
No I don’t mind either, looking at them just brings back all the times I read from them to make them fall apart and it makes me happy in a strange way! 😀 ❤

      3. That is pretty cheap! The only place here I can ever find HP stuff is Barnes and Noble or Hot Topic and both places are expensive with their HP stuff. Especially Barnes and Noble though I think that has more to do with the store than anything.
Me too! I even got one of mine used from a friend who was replacing her copy and gave it to me for my birthday. Now it’s even more used because I read it a few times. 😂

  4. This list is amazing!! I’m addicted to Butterbeer candles. All of them smell slightly different, and I can’t decide which one is closest to the Harry Potter World drink. Guess I gotta keep buying them… 😀

    1. Thanks so much. Oh I haven’t got any Butterbeer candles, or actually any HP ones in general, something I need to rectify soon!
You can never have too many HP candles I don’t think, and one day you’ll find the perfect match, I’m sure of it! 😀

  5. I own way too many of these! I have a poster that I think you’d love – it has the whole of the first books written out and in the empty bits it makes the shape of Hedwig carrying a letter and a lightning bolt. Great list 🙂

    1. See on the other hand I don’t have many at all, but I’m trying to steadily grow my collection. 🙂
Oh I’ve seen posters like that. I actually have one for Alice in Wonderland but I’ve seen a HP one I wanna buy one day! 😀

  6. This post speaks to me on a spiritual levelllll!! Harry Potter is just my favourite oh my gosh. This is such a great list?? I don’t actually have many of these though *hides* and so basically I am desperate for these now haha. That time-turner necklace is so pretty! I do have a bunch of House clothing though from when I went to Universal Studios (as well as a stuffed Hedwig haha)! I’ve never purchased a bookish candle, but I’ve seen them around and now I’m especially tempted. 😉 And yesss the sweets!! We can’t forget those, I love them so much. ❤

    1. Ha, that’s good to hear. HP is my favourite as well, and pretty much everything on this list is something I want, if I don’t have it already.
Ohh I really want a stuffed Hedwig, I’m going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in June so I may have to buy one there, as well as more merch to represent my Hogwarts house. Bookish candles are my favourite thing at the moment and I’d love more Harry Potter ones. Sweets are never a bad choice are they? 😀

  7. Great list! Me and my brother both have a wand. I have Luna Lovegoods and my brother has the Elder wand. I also have a Slytherin scarf! When I was in London I ended up buying my brother a Hufflepuff scarf. I don’t even own any HP pop figures. I want them, I just haven’t gotten to collecting those ones! Do you have any?

    1. Thanks so much Meghan. Oh that’s so cool, I don’t have a wand or a scarf, yet, but I do have a pillow with my Hogwarts house on (and one for the other three as well!).
I have a small collection. At the moment I’ve got Dumbledore, Newt, and the Niffler. I definitely want to get more though. One day hopefully! 🙂

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I think the same actually, I really want the scarf Newt had in the Fantastic Beasts movie, that’s my favourite.
Yep, and I’m going to keep building it, slowly but eventually. Oh I couldn’t resist, Newt or the Niffler when I saw them. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      2. That’s a really nice scarf! 😀
I don’t even have a full collection of anything… like I have 3 of the 6 Friends characters as pop figures, haha I really need to get the other 3 before I start a new collection 😛

        Liked by 1 person

      3. Yeah, I’m going to be buying it soon. It will be in the middle of Summer but at least that way I’ll have it for when the weather gets cold again.
Wow yeah I’d definitely get the other three, then again I have a couple of the Supernatural Funko Pops and never got around to getting more. I need to complete that collection I think! 🙂

  8. I loooove those Harry Potter editions you’ve included! I’m not a big fan of fandom merchandise and tend to gravitate away from them, but any pretty book is right up my alley. Those HP publishers just keep on pushing and pushing new stuff for us readers to buy – I feel like I’ve seen at least 10 different English-language editions of the entire series, haha.

And that time-turner necklace! I’d totally get that. ❤

    1. Oh there are so many editions of Harry Potter out there. On top of the first edition I got when the series was first released I’m in the middle of collecting the Illustrated editions and if they release all seven books with the Hogwart house covers I’ll have another collection as well.
In my opinion you can never have too much Harry Potter on your bookshelves! 😀
Yeah the time turner necklace is gorgeous, I got one for my friend for Christmas one year and she loved it. 🙂

      1. No, I was 14. So the letter said I had gained admission straight to second year. The letter looked beautiful! I am planning to do a post on it ..
Yes, definitely. Somehow, Harry Potter makes me feel I am home. 🙂

  9. My dad is a HUGE fan of Harry Potter. I think I might get him an acceptance letter and a wand for his next birthday or perhaps Christmas 🙂 These are all so cute!

I’ve been buying him the illustrated books to read with my nephew when he’s a bit older. Thought it might be something they can share.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Oh wow that would be an amazing gift. If you do get them I hope your dad really likes them both, then again if he’s a huge fan of HP he should right?
That is a nice idea. I’ve read through the first two Illustrated editions I have with my younger cousin who loves Harry Potter. She really loves the books and the pictures as well! 🙂
