The Who Am I Tag

Normally I do post the tags in my queue in the order I was tagged in them. However the Who Am I tag looked like so much fun I had to bump it up my list. I’ll still get around to the others, don’t worry, but I couldn’t resist starting this one. I was tagged by Melissa at Book Nerd Momo and Anna at My Bookish Dream. Thanks so much both of you for the tag, I had a lot of fun with this one so I hope you enjoy reading my answers just as much.

The Who Am I Tag

What is the Meaning of My Name?

It seems like most people have done their first and middle names for this question so I’m going to do the same; Bethany Jo Kathleen.

Bethany is Hebrew in origin and comes from the name of a biblical town meaning “house of figs”. I actually did already know this, I remember looking up name meanings with my friends in high school and laughing about them. I’m not even a fan of figs but there we are.

Jo is a shortened version of German and Dutch masculine names, so it doesn’t have a specific meaning. Personally though both my middle names came from my grandparents. Jo is for Joyce my paternal grandmother.

Kathleen is an anglicized version of Caitlín, so again no specific meaning. For my family though Kathleen was my great-great-aunts name, my nan’s middle name and my mum’s middle name, so it’s a family name from my mum’s side.

What is my Myer-Briggs Personality Type? (Link)

I feel like I’ve done this test before but honestly I can’t remember what result I got, and even if I could I would have done it again simply for this tag.

Myer-Briggs (1)

Advocate Personality (INFJ, -A/-T)

The Advocate personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As members of the Diplomat Role group, Advocates have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is that they are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.

Advocates tend to see helping others as their purpose in life, but while people with this personality type can be found engaging rescue efforts and doing charity work, their real passion is to get to the heart of the issue so that people need not be rescued at all.

Myer-Briggs - My Results

Advocates You May Know:

  • Martin Luther King
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Mother Teresa
  • Alanis Morissette
  • Jimmy Carter

Myer-Briggs (2)

Strengths:

  • Creative
  • Insightful
  • Inspiring and convincing
  • Decisive
  • Determined and passionate
  • Altruistic

Weaknesses:

  • Sensitive
  • Extremely private
  • Perfectionistic
  • Always need to have a cause
  • Can burn out easily

Well, I’m going to be honest here, I don’t think I’ve ever been so intimidated by my own personality type. However I do think the strengths and weaknesses fit me, more so the weaknesses than the strengths, so while at the moment I’m not ‘leaving my mark on the world’ I guess I still have some time left to do just that.

What is My Zodiac Sign?

I used to love astrology, and everything to do with the zodiac signs. Now not so much but every so often I do enjoy reading my horoscope and seeing what the stars have in store for me.

I’m a Gemini, so make of that what you will.

What is my Hogwarts House? (Link)

Again this is a quiz I did before, and again I can’t remember the exact results, so of course I took part again for this tag.

Hogwarts House

Hufflepuff

Hufflepuffs value hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play. The house has produced its share of great wizards—not least Newt Scamander, author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

  • Hufflepuff – 15
  • Ravenclaw – 13
  • Gryffindor – 11
  • Slytherin – 6

Three times I have taken some kind of sorting quiz – once on Pottermore and twice on the above link – and all three time I’ve gotten Hufflepuff. Later, when I told my friend after taking the Pottermore quiz, that I’d been sorted into Hufflepuff she literally laughed and said, ‘Well I could have told you that.’. I guess it really is my house.

What are my Learning Styles? (Link)

Apparently I have a multimodal learning preference, which actually makes sense because I learn different things in different ways.

  • Visual – 4
  • Aural – 6
  • Read/Write – 8
  • Kinaesthetic – 5

Based on my scores though it does seem I lean towards aural learning and reading/writing learning, which again does make sense to me based on how I’ve learnt things in the past.

Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant? (Link)

Apparently I use my brain equally. There’s really not that much in it at all, but if you’re being picky I am a little bit more right-brained than left.

Left or Right Brained

What is my Blood Type?

I’m O+. This means I can give blood to people who are O+, A+, B+ and AB+, and receive blood from people who are O+ and O-.

What Career am I Meant to Have? (Link)

Everyone I’ve seen take part in this tag has gotten the same answer for this question, and apparently so did I. Kind of makes me wonder if there is any other option other than writer.

CareerType

Writer

You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.

What Divergent Faction Do I Belong In? (Link)

Divergent Faction

I am Divergent.

You deviate from the norm. The aptitude test is inconclusive. It cannot determine just one faction for you, Divergent. Your mind is ceaselessly changing. You’re creative, with a strong sense of self, and you have a clear picture of who you are and what you want. You stand out from the crowd. You may pose a threat to the norms of society, but you are unwilling to give into them.

Well, here’s hoping my story doesn’t end as badly as Tris’s did.

What Does My Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)

I am the firstborn in my family, so apparently this means I am a natural leader, ambitious and responsible. However in practise I don’t think this is the case. In fact the only one of these that could describe me is responsible.

While I can be ambitious I don’t think it’s a defining trait of mine, and in my family the natural leader role would go to my younger sister before it went to me.

  1. I could’ve sworn I commented on your tag Beth cuz I remember distinctly reading all your results and smiling lol. awww you’re a Hufflepuff, LUV Hufflepuffs! on Pottermore I’m a Ravenclaw but I’m curious to see what I get on this one. OoO they should’ve added a what’s your Patronus quiz LOL! This looks like so much fun Beth, thank you for tagging me & I’m so sorry for the late comment 😦

    1. Ha, I swear I do that sometimes. I read blog posts on the train or at work where I can’t comment back so it slips my mind as well. 🙂
Yeah I’m very happy with my Hufflepuff result, and now I know my house I’ve been buying more merch for it as well! 😀 Ohh a Patronus quiz would have been fun as well.
That’s all right, I’ll be looking forwards to seeing what your answers for this one are. 🙂

      1. Oddly enough, it’s soooooo hard to find Ravenclaw merch in stores 😕I’ll be checking out some online merch soon as well. There’s a Patronus quiz on Pottermore.com, I’m going to go see what I get 🤗🤗🤗

  2. Go Hufflepuff! Last time I did the test Ravenclaw was my first result, but Hufflepuff was the second highest ahah. And it’s so cool to read the meaning of your name! I never would’ve known Bethany meant house of figs. 😀 And Divergent! I do hope it doesn’t end up being like Tris’s story as well haha. I’m also a firstborn! Um I’m not exactly a natural leader?? Responsible is probably the only one that accurately describes as well. Loved reading your answers, Beth! ❤

    1. Hufflepuff pride! 💛
The results I got this time around were pretty similar to what I got last time. I know I was close on two houses but I guess Hufflepuff just wins out. 🙂
Yeah I looked that up ages ago. One of those things you do when you’re bored in high school.
No that seems to be the case for most firstborns. We didn’t get the natural leader traits but we did get the responsible ones!
Thanks so much Analee! 😀 ❤

    1. That’s all right to I’m looking forwards to seeing your answers for this one Lashaan.
Well yeah I don’t normally out much stock in horoscopes and what they say about me. What else can I say about it? 🙂
I think it means Hufflepuff is definitely my Hogwarts house, literally there’s no doubt about it! 🙂

  3. You’ve got such a lovely name, Beth! I love the sound of it and looks like you’ve been named with great care, too, as you’ve inherited those names from your family. 😛

And oh my goodness re: the writer question. Perhaps our affinity towards books makes us all really similar for that particular quiz…

Thanks for sharing your answers! I really enjoyed reading them. ❤

    1. Ahh thanks so much Reg, yeah I do like my name actually, and it’s nice having that connection to my family through my middle names in a way as well. 🙂
It’s possible, we’re all posting about books on here so I guess we’re all similar in that aspect. Still I’m wondering if there is another answer for that quiz or if you’ll get writer no matter what answers you pick
That’s all right, I’m glad you enjoyed reading my post for this tag! 🙂 ❤

  4. I’m glad that you had fun doing this tag! 😀
It was really fun reading through your answers and getting to know you more. And I have to agree, the career test does make you wonder if there are other ones aside from “writer”. I think I have only seen one person get something else. Guess all of us shall become authors in the future! XD
    Great post! ❤

    1. Oh yes it was so much fun, thanks again for tagging me in this one Anna. I loved being able to take part.
I’m glad you enjoyed reading my answers, and yeah I’m beginning to think that quiz is rigged. That or we’re all really similar on WordPress!
A lot of potential authors on here I guess.
      Thanks! 😀 ❤

  5. I’m glad that you had fun doing this tag and taking the quizzes, Beth! 😁 I love how your middle names come from your family, that’s how it is for all three of my younger sister’s names except for mine. Funny story about my name is that my mom stole it from my aunt who was saving it for if she ever had a girl. As luck would have it she only ended up having boys though so 😂. I so knew you would get Hufflepuff! (Mostly because we’ve talked about Hogwarts houses before.) And I am completely suspicious about this career quiz now. Reg and I were talking about it a bit back and the fact that everyone was getting writer. I’ve only seen one blogger get something besides writer. Also, I can relate on the whole firstborn not really fitting beyond being the responsible one. Out of my siblings, I’m probably the least likely to be the leader and the most likely to just go with the flow lol.
Great answers for this, I loved reading them! 😊♥

    1. Oh this was such a fun tag! Thanks again so much for tagging me in it. Yeah me, my sister and my mum all have family names for our middle names. Guess it’s kind of become a tradition now. Oh that is lucky, if not imagine if there had been two Melissa’s in your family! That would get confusing when you all met up again. 🙂
Yeah I think when I got the results I wasn’t surprised. There are some people who will take the test over and over again and get different houses. Not me though, every time I’ve taken it I’ve gotten Hufflepuff so I guess it’s for definite that that’s my house! 😀
Yeah I’ve heard about people who got different answers but all the ones I’ve seen have been Writer. Either we’re all really similar here on WordPress or the quiz is rigged somehow. 🙂
Yeah same here actually. Responsible seems to be a trait in older siblings but the rest seem to go to our younger ones, maybe because they didn’t have to be responsible.
Thanks so much Melissa, I’m glad you enjoyed reading my answers! 😀 ❤

      1. No problem, glad you had fun with it!! 😁 I always thought it was neat that some families passed on names like that. Right? It would have been extremely confusing. At that point, I feel like I would have asked everyone to call me by my middle name instead lol.
There was one time where I took the quiz and got Slytherin but beyond that one time it’s been the same for me, every time I take it I get Ravenclaw. 😊
I would wonder if it’s a blogger thing. Since we all write on blogs we all have writer qualities, you know? But, yeah, I’m still wondering if it’s rigged. Maybe whoever created it just wants everyone to be writers. 😂
That’s exactly what I was thinking while reading the firstborn stuff, the younger ones get the other traits because they don’t worry as much about being responsible. Although, the whole talk about having a rebellious streak fit me because I went through one of those lol.
        You’re welcome!! 😊♥

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Yeah it’s nice having family names as middle names. I don’t quite get it when people name their children their names. My sister’s boyfriend is called Jim, and so is his dad, and I just find that weird you know?
Oh wow, that must have been a bit of a shock, but I guess if every other time you got Ravenclaw just stuck with Ravenclaw! 😀
Possibly, that’s kind of what I think, we’re all on here blogging about books so I guess on some level we’re all pretty similar people who answered in pretty similar ways likely.
I never went through a rebellious streak, my sister went through a big enough one for both of us though. I definitely agree with what you said about younger siblings not needing to worry about things, that’s definitely true in mine and my sister’s cases! 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      3. I don’t get that either! And I feel like it mostly happens to guys rather than girls. It’s like so and so the third or something like that and yeah I find it weird too lol. I know I’d rather not have the same first name as my parents, too confusing.
Not too much, I used to always think I was a mixture between the two houses but not so much anymore.
It’s reversed for me, I went through a terrible rebellious streak and then my younger sisters never did. 😂 But, yeah, it does seem like younger siblings have it a bit easy on the worrying front.

        Liked by 1 person

      4. It seems to be something their family does. So if my sister ever has a child with him and it’s a boy he’ll be named Jim as well. Can you imagine that? Jim the third?
I guess most people seem to always identify with one house more than another. Even if they are close there’s always going to be one.
Nah. I guess I just keep all my negative emotions and thoughts bottled up, which can’t be healthy so it’s very possible at one point I’ll explode and commit a huge act of rebellion in a few years. You never know? 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      5. Oh goodness. I can imagine you being all in the background like “Why?” 😂 The few people I’ve known who have been named after their parents always went by their middle names.
True. And then there’s the Ilvermorny houses which I don’t completely understand still.
You could! And I used to do the same but now I just let all the emotions out lol.

      6. Ha, yeah I am. It makes it even worse that he has a cousin who’s called Gary, whose dad is also called Gary! Like really?! If my sister had a son and names him Jim I’ll have to call him something else because I just won’t be able to do it.
I don’t understand the Ilvermorny houses either, and actually can’t remember what one I got either way (I think possibly Thunderbird?).

        Liked by 1 person

      7. Oh no! 😂😂 I would do the exact same if I was you. If it does happen just call him by his middle name and maybe it’ll stick lol.
I can’t remember which one I got either. I think it was Horned Serpent but when I went to check I couldn’t remember my Pottermore username. 🤦😂

        Liked by 1 person

      8. I’m hoping my sister will stand up and refuse to name the kid the same as his dad and granddad. I mean, she’ll be the one giving birth she should get final decision on the name.
I guess when it comes to Ilvermorny houses we don’t tend to remember them as well as we do the Hogwarts ones, for obvious reasons right? 🙂

    1. Yeah it definitely introduced more of who I am to everyone on WordPress. Definitely take part if you want to, you can consider yourself tagged via this comment if you want, I’d love to see your answers for all these quizzes.
Yep, but not as much of a minority as the AB’s though. 😀

      1. I had a quick google – because I’m nosy and wanted to know 😂 AB- is the rarest and B- and O- are also extremely rare and account for less than 5% of the worlds population each 🙂

    1. Thanks Trang, I’m really glad you enjoyed reading this post, and I’ll be looking forwards to seeing what answers you and Lashaan get as well.
Yeah for the most part actually, Hufflepuff is definitely my Hogwarts house, that I 100% agree with! 😀
