Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which shines a light on eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.
This is actually going to be my last week taking part in the Waiting on Wednesday weekly feature. At the moment I’m not only posting a Waiting on Wednesday feature but a Top Ten Tuesday one and a Standalone Sunday one. I want to keep to two max on this blog and at the moment I feel like I’ve featured most of the books I am desperately waiting on.
This week my pick is;
Once and For All by Sarah Dessen
Publisher: Viking Books for Young Readers
Release Date: 6th June 2017
As bubbly as champagne and delectable as wedding cake, Once and for All, Sarah Dessen’s thirteenth novel, is set in the world of wedding planning, where crises are routine.
Louna, daughter of famed wedding planner Natalie Barrett, has seen every sort of wedding: on the beach, at historic mansions, in fancy hotels and clubs. Perhaps that’s why she’s cynical about happily-ever-after endings, especially since her own first love ended tragically. When Louna meets charming, happy-go-lucky serial dater Ambrose, she holds him at arm’s length. But Ambrose isn’t about to be discouraged, now that he’s met the one girl he really wants.
Sarah Dessen’s many, many fans will adore her latest, a richly satisfying, enormously entertaining story that has everything—humour, romance, and an ending both happy and imperfect, just like life itself.
When it comes to YA contemporary authors Sarah Dessen is not only the first I discovered but one of my favourites. While I still have some of her most recent releases on my to-read list I have high hopes for them, and this one is no exception. From the sounds of the blurb Once and For All has all the makings of a classic Dessen story and I know I’m going to love it just as much as all her other books.
So what does everyone think; is Once and For All a must on anyone else’s to-read list or are there any other books that you can’t wait for to be released?
Also to celebrate reaching my one year blogiversary I am hosting a giveaway and Q&A. The chance to enter and ask me any questions ends in less than a week, on the 1st of December at midnight GMT. For more information you can check out my original post here.
Ah, a Dessen book. There was one on sale on Amazon but I skipped it bc I don’t know what one to start with. Which do you recommend?

Honestly I’ve yet to read a Sarah Dessen book I haven’t enjoyed, in fact I’ll be posting a review for another one I read today shortly. I started with Just Listen though, and that remains my favourite to this day so I guess I’d recommend that one! 😀

That’s so funny, because that’s what Reg @ SheLatitude recommended! So I guess I’ll have to give that a try!

In that case now you have two bloggers recommending it and two more reasons to pick it up! 😀

One must be quite masochist to be a wedding planner, hahaha! But I like the sound of this, I think I’ll give the author a try when spring comes along, it sounds like the perfect season for it 🙂

It’s definitely something I couldn’t do at all. I know where my strengths are and while I’m good at planning I’ not good enough with people to plan a wedding or anything!
It sounds like a great book, and Sarah Dessen is one of my favourite authors so I hope you love this book Donna. 😀

Great minds think alike, I was going to feature this one this week but didn’t have time to write up the post because of some craziness work wise 😂. I’m really excited this too! We’ve talked about Sarah Dessen a few times so you know she’s one of my favorites too. Once and for All sounds like it’s going to be fantastic! Great pick, Beth. 😊

Ha, great minds indeed! It sounds like an amazing book doesn’t it, I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen it featured in a WoW post before now, and it’s by Sarah Dessen so it’s bound to be amazing.
Yep I think we have talked about her before, we have a few favourite authors in comparison I guess.
Thanks Melissa! 😀

I think I’ve seen it featured only once but it wasn’t a WoW it was an excerpt post some one did for the publisher or author. I read the excerpt and it was so good! I wish I had the link to the post so that I could link you too it.
Yep we do. You’re welcome, Beth! 😊

I haven’t seen any posts for it, other than my one obviously, but I’m sure I can do a google search to find an excerpt post! 😀

Sarah Dessen! WHAT a wonderful pick! I still need to read more of her books, but I’m excited for that one as well 😀

Yeah I thought so as well! She’s such an amazing author so I’d recommend checking out the rest of her books as soon as you get a chance to. This one sounds amazing too! 😀

Definitely looking forward to this one! Many of her more recent releases haven’t been amazing for me, but I love her style and characters. Once and For All is probably one of my most anticipated releases for next year. 💕

Same here, I only came across it recently though but it’s already very high on my to-read list! I’ve only got up to Lock and Key at the moment but I think even if her newer releases aren’t as good as I remember her older ones being she’s still an amazing author, and she’ll still be one of my favourites! 😀

Same for me! There’s just something about her writing, I think, and no one else does family/coming-of-age quite like she does. The closest I can think of is Huntley Fitzpatrick, but Fitzpatrick’s books don’t give me the same sense of nostalgia (though it could be bc I read them as an adult).

I didn’t pick up Huntley Fitzpatrick’s book until this year actually. I think I can see some similarities in their characters in that whole coming-of-age way but yeah only Sarah Dessen gives me that whole nostalgia feel whenever I pick up one of her books. 🙂

I read Lock and Key a few months back and her writing was just as amazing as I remembered it being. I need to try and get through the rest of her more recent releases before this one comes out. 🙂

I am personally not a huge Sarah Dessen fan, but I know sooooo many people who are. I completely understand why this would be a super anticipated release for you! 🙂 I am personally waiting for Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology to come out. It’s not until February, but I can’t wait!

She’s the first YA contemporary author I discovered and yeah still one of my favourites. 🙂 I’ve heard of Norse Mythology through WoW and added it to my to-read list as well, that sounds amazing and not too long left to go either! 😀
