Celebrating the Little Things Tag

The first time I saw this tag was on Fadwa’s blog over at Word Wonders, and I thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate my one year blogiversary which is today. Then I was tagged by the wonderful people over at Closet Readers to take part in this tag and literally jumped at the opportunity.

Today is my one-year blogiversary, and later I will posting again which will include the giveaway I am hosting to celebrate. Honestly I never thought I’d make it a year posting on this blog. I am a huge procrastinator and the other three times I tried starting a blog it fizzled out long before I read the one year mark. But I did it with this one, and I felt this tag was a nice way to celebrate all of my wonderful followers.

Seriously you guys are all amazing, thank you so much for following me and talking to me about books and just making my experience on WordPress this past year an amazing one. Here’s to another year.

Who was your very first follower (if you can find out), tag them and give them a shout out!

My very first follower, all those months ago, was Emily at Emily Talks About Books. Congratulations I guess on being my first follower Emily, and thanks so much for choosing to follow me in the first place all those months ago.

What was the last milestone you reached?

Asides from the fact that today I reached my one year blogiversary, because it feels like I’ve spoken about that a lot recently and I still have quite a bit to say about it. The last milestone I reached was 1000 followers.

I am still completely in awe that I have 1000 people actually following my blog. When I first started I doubted I’d reach 100 followers by the end of 2016 let alone 1000. Granted I’m not too bothered about the amount of followers I have, I care more about the amount of people I interact with each day and each time I post a review or tag. Those are the milestones I care about now, but it was still thrilling to get the notification letting me know I’d reached 1000 followers.

What was the very first post you posted on your blog? Share it with us if you can find out.

It was actually a Top Ten Tuesday post, Top Ten Quotes I Loved From Books I Read In the Past Year or So. I actually timed the start of my blog with that specific Top Ten Tuesday topic because I loved the theme so much.

My first review was two days later, Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. It’s an amazing sci-fi novel and probably one of the best books I could have picked to review to kick start my blog.

Looking back my reviews and Top Ten Tuesday posts haven’t changed much in their format, which just goes to show you that once I find something that works for me I stick with it to the bitter end.

Who was your most recent follower, tag them and give them a shout out!

My most recent follower is Baylie at Well Formed Words. Again thank you so much for choosing to follow me Baylie, and I hope you have as much fun blogging within this community as I have over the past year.

What was the last post you posted and who was the very first person who took their time to click the like button? Give them a shout out!

My latest post was my weekly Waiting on Wednesday post featuring Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire. As a side note I’d highly recommend everyone check out the first book in that series, Every Heart a Doorway, because it is an amazing story with such diverse and unforgettable characters.

The first person to like my post was My Booking Great Blog, who was actually the first to comment as well.

How many months have you been blogging for?

In case you missed it the first few times I’ve mentioned it in this post alone I have been blogging for 12 months today!

Do you have any bloggers you’re friends with? Give them a shout out.

Can I say everyone I’ve spoken to since I started this blog?

Honestly I’ve met so many amazing people though WordPress that I count as friends, and if I miss anyone out of this I am so so sorry but my main few blogger friends are; Jill at Rant and Rave About Books, Lauren at Wonderless Reviews, another Lauren but this time at Lauren’s Page Turners, Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books, Melissa at Book Nerd Momo, Reg at She Latitude and Stephanie at Teacher of YA’s Book Blog.

These are the bloggers I talk to the most, the bloggers I look forwards to hearing from be it through comments or their own posts, and bloggers who have successfully added so many books to my to-read list. I trust all of their opinions on books implicitly and I know if they recommend something to me chances are I’m going to love it as much as they did. Basically my blogging experience this past year would not have been the same without every single one of them at some point or another.

Who originally created the last meme or tag you participated in? Give them a shout out!

The last weekly meme I took part in, yesterday actually, was Waiting on Wednesday which is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Before that I took part in the Fall Activities Book Tag, I have no idea who created this one but I was tagged by Lauren at Lauren’s Page Turners so thanks again Lauren for the tag.

Have you any social media related to your blog?

I’ve been meaning to create a Goodreads account for blog for a while now and I do plan on getting around to it soon, definitely before the end of this year though when exactly is anyone’s guess. Until then the only social media account is my Instagram one where I post pictures of some of the pretty books I own.

Last but not least…Just give thanks to all your followers.

Thank you, a hundred thousand times thank you. Blogging this past year has been a wonderful experience and all of you who decided to follow me for whatever reason have just made it all the more amazing. I really do hope you all enjoy reading my posts.

An extra special thanks goes to the people who take the time to like or comment on each of the reviews or tags I publish. The main reason I started this blog was to talk about the books I love, and there are many I love. It’s great that when I post a review there are people who have read the same book and want to talk about the characters or what they loved about it, or that when I take part in the Waiting on Wednesday feature there are plenty of other people who are just as excited for whatever book I feature to be released as I am.

My Tags:

I want to tag every one of my followers just to say thank you, but especially I want to tag everyone I specifically mentioned in the above post; my first and most recent followers, the blogger who liked my latest post, and all of my amazing blogger friends (except Lauren at Wonderless Reviews because I know she’s done this tag recently).

  1. Wow, I had no idea that you had 1000 followers! That’s amazing. Congratulations! ❤ This tag is really wonderful, I just love the whole concept of it. Also looking forward to your Goodreads. 😀

  2. I had NO IDEA you had 1,000 followers! Damn, girl! Wow!
Hey, some advice…do you follow them all back? I get some weird bloggers that follow me, and I don’t get their blogs at ALL…so I don’t follow back. But maybe u should and just not select the email updates button? Cause I like the idea of having that many followers, but I couldn’t manage reading them all. What do you do?
I’m so glad you think of me as a friend, bc when I answer that question, you pop right in my mind along with Jasmine, Sammi, Jillian, and Megan. I talk to you guys the most. Oh, and there’s a new blogger who’s super cute, she’s girlwhoreads. I don’t think I know her real name. But I’m so glad you thought of me bc I thought of you, too! 😘
Once again, congrats on the blogoversary…I am so proud of you! 🙌🙌🙌

    1. Honestly I’m still a little awestruck as well.
No I don’t, I tried to follow everyone who followed me in the beginning but there were a few bloggers who don’t have similar interests to me and it got too much to manage after a while. Now I just stick to people who I interact with and who I know I have things in common with you know? I’d like to follow back everyone but 1000 is too much for me, plus not everyone I follow follows me so there’s that as well.
You’re definitely one of the first people that pops into my head when I think of blogger friends! I do need to find new bloggers so I may check out girlwhoreads. I trust your recommendation with bloggers as well as books. 😀
      Thanks again Stephanie! ❤

      1. Thank YOU for thinking of me as your blogger friend! I know there’s a lot of people out there (I mean, even if you don’t follow all 1,000 because of different tastes, that still means a lot of ppl), so I feel special! (I’m speshul! ❄️)
I have the same thing: I have a couple blogger friends who I followed in the beginning bc they followed me, and I comment on their blogs, but they don’t ever comment or like my posts. So I stopped adding back ppl that had nothing in common with me. One blogger asked me to do a guest post for his blog, but he asked me to write about anything BUT books! I was like, what? I’m a BOOK blogger! Duh! But whatevs. He added me as an admin and I was like, nope, not adding anyone to my blog as an admin. There’s no way.
Girlwhoreads is a sweetheart. She posts a lot, and she’s a great commenter. Duskangelreads is also a new friend of mine. But no one will beat you, Sammi, Jill, Megan, and Jas. You guys are my staples. My gold friends. The ppl I know who will always comment and support me. And the lineup has changed a bit over time, but I find that you in particular have always been someone who I can have long threads of conversation with. I love being able to do that! 😊

      2. That’s all right, but you honestly are and it’s got to the point where it feels strange if I’m not speaking to you through comments at least once a day! (Very special!)
Exactly, in my mind the whole point of starting this blog is interaction, and if I’m not interacting with people and they’re not interacting with me then why am I following them in be first place! No I’m not going to add anyone as admin on my blog, it’s kind of mine and I can’t imagine giving up control long enough to let anyone collaborate with me for more than maybe a one off guest post.
I’ll be sure to check out both those bloggers then. I’m looking for some new people to follow. You’re one of my golden friends, and I imagine you always will be as well! 🙂
Same here, I do love all the conversations we’ve had, and they never seem to end either do they?! 🙂

  3. Aww thanks for the tag, Beth! I’ve been seeing this one floating around lately and can’t wait to do it because I love how positive it is. Also, congrats on 1000 followers! That’s an amazing milestone and I’m not surprised at all because your blog is incredible and you’re probably one of the nicest bloggers I’ve met 💕. You deserve them.
And thanks so much for the shout out! I definitely consider you as one of my blogger friends too. You were probably one of my first friends on here actually and I’m so glad I decided to follow and comment on your posts. Otherwise, I would be very lonely in my love for The Bone Season and have way less books on my TBR 😂. I always look forward to hearing from you too. 😊
Happy (late) blogiversary! Here’s to many more to come in the future! ♥

I’m very honoured to be considered one of your blogging friends, and you’re definitely that for me as well! I’m very grateful to all of our loooong conversations over comments and I can only hope that’ll continue.
