The Miranda Sings Award

I’d already been nominated for this award once before, and let me tell you I am not a positive person at the best of times so trying to come up with another seven things I love about myself was really difficult, but I managed it in the end. I was tagged by Fatima at Notable Pad. Thank you so much for the tag Fatima; everyone else should definitely check out her original post and while you’re there her blog as well.

The Mirana Sings Award

The Rules:

  • Announce your win with a post, and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Include the featured image on your blog post.
  • Nominate ten bloggers (or as many as you can think of) and link your awardees in the post.
  • List seven things you love about yourself. (This can be about your appearance, your personality, your achievements, etc.)
  • Don’t use negative connotation (i.e. Don’t say things like – “I’m prettier than an average person.” or “People have told me I’m smart.” You are pretty. You are smart.)

I’m always willing to help other people…
…It’s been remarked on a few times now that I do go out of my way to help other people, most notably at work. If someone asks for a hand normally I’m able to drop what I’m doing and actually help them. It’s one of the reasons I won employee of the month a little while ago.

I’m a happy person…
…I didn’t use to be, but since starting my current job I’ve slowly become much more happier, both at work and at home. People always see me smiling and some of my work colleagues have said it’s been nice seeing me come out of my shell a little more.

I’m good at buying gifts for people…
…I never know what you buy people for birthdays or for Christmas, but I will spend hours walking around the shops or searching on the internet finding the perfect gifts for my friends and family, and most times I am normally really pleased with what I end up getting them.

I passed my Allocator Level 2 first time around…
…As part of the progression for my job we have to have certain Levels signed off. The pass bar for the Allocator Level 2 when I took part was quite high but I managed to get mine signed off, and when I was told it was honestly one of the happiest days I’ve had at my job to date.

I’m supportive…
…If one of my friends or one of my colleagues is having a bad day or a problem I like to think I’m able to be there for them, even if it’s just to listen to their issues or provide a shoulder to cry on.

I’m enthusiastic…
…When it comes to the things I love, and I am not just counting books here but hobbies I have and fandom’s I am a part of, I literally throw myself into them. Everyone knows I love to read and that I am a massive fan of Game of Thrones, and they know because I am so enthusiastic about the things I love.

I’m a good baker…
…It took a lot of practise, and a few failed attempts, but now I like to think I am pretty good at baking. The cupcakes I’ve made for my friends and the cakes I’ve made for my family have all been well received, and it’s something I really enjoy as well.

  1. The concept behind this tag is really great! I loved all your answers, those are amazing qualities to have. ❤ I'm also glad to hear that you are happy, both at work and in your personal life.
And I remember your baking post and how delicious everything looked! 🙂

    1. Yeah it’s one of my favourite tags just because it is one of the most positive ones I’ve done to date! Thanks so much Anna, and yeah I remember a few years ago when I wasn’t as happy in my job or just life in general and it’s kind of nice seeing how far I’ve come. 🙂
Thanks again, I love baking and it’s always great when the things I make come out looking pretty! 😀

    1. That’s all right, I can’t wait to see what you come up with for this tag!
Well it’s definitely a good positive quality, I know everyone loved baked goods! It’s definitely a positive quality when it comes to Christmas time, that’s when my gift buying abilities really shine! 😀

      1. No I know what you mean. I think you do think it’s easy at first but when you attempt to start writing things down you realise it’s harder than you thought.
There’s always something people like isn’t there; if they’re not fans of brownies they love cupcakes! 😀

  2. Awesome facts, Beth! 🙂 Congrats on passing your levels for work! I am a terrible baker. I can make things out of a box and even that’s not always certain. 😂 Is Game of Thrones still behind schedule for next year? I heard they’re behind, which is such a bummer because after that finale, I was really looking forward to the next season.

    1. Thanks Jill, yeah it was great finally being able to pass my levels. It was a great feeling. And oh I love baking, it’s one of those things where practise really does make perfect. 😀
Yeah I think so, I know the net season won’t be coming out in April like all the previous ones have, and the sixth book doesn’t even have a release date yet either. So we’ve got a long time to go before we can have our next fix of that series!

  3. This is a fantastic post, I love the idea of it. I’m not a positive person haha so I don’t know what I’d come up with haha. But I really love reading yours, and I can perfectly see you being there to cheer up your collegues and friends, or talking passionately about your favorite books and tv shows. We can see it on your blog, your writing, your enthusiasm – and the way you talk as well, I love it 🙂

    1. Thanks Marie! 😀 Yeah I wouldn’t really say I was a positive person all the time, but it was a fun post and it was interesting to see what I managed to come up with at the same time.
Thanks so much Marie 💕 it’s something my colleagues have mentioned a few times so it isn’t just me thinking that with no justification. 🙂 And I’m glad my enthusiasm shows in my writing because, well, I love reading and interacting with you all so much on this blog and WordPress in general! 😀

      1. Thanks so much! And something my friend suggested which I try and do (though some days are harder than others) is write down one positive thing that happened to me. It does help me think more positively as a whole, and it’s just a good way of reminding me, even when my day is really crappy, there’s still good things happening! 😀

  4. I love this tag! It’s such a positive and great way to spread self love 🙂
I also really admire the qualities you chose! I however can never think of any type of presents to buy people probably because I am so indecisive but I do consider myself pretty happy and optimistic 🙂
    Lovely post.

    1. Oh definitely, it’s one of my favourites for that reason alone though I can find it hard to be positive about myself as well.
Thanks! 🙂 I never normally have anything solid in mind when I go shopping for presents. It’s more me walking about the shops for ages until I see something just think ‘yes, this is perfect!’ It’s worked for me so far.
And it’s great to be happy and optimistic as well!
      Thanks. 💕

  5. Aww this is such a cute post! I love the idea of spreading positivity, especially since it seems to be in everyone’s nature to be negative about themselves and/or downplay their achievements. I love that you feel happy now and that you’re not afraid of being enthusiastic about things you’re interested in! What kinds of things do you bake? I’m such a ditherer when it comes to buying people presents – I’ll spend ages looking at different things and then end up calling my family or friends for advice, so I admire your tenacity when it comes to gift buying 🙂 Thanks for the tag, I’m looking forward to doing it!

    1. Thanks so much Kate! Yeah it’s definitely a great award for that reason alone, and it certainly helped me to think more positively about myself too! I’m normally one of those people who can be negative and downplays achievements.
I will bake pretty much anything that sounds yummy but my specialities are cupcakes and cookies. My cakes tend to go lopsided a little and I can never get the consistency of brownies right, though they taste good enough! 🙂
I spend a lot of time looking for presents but I genuinely love buying things for people, and once I find something I just know whoever I’m buying it for will love it! 😀
That’s all right, I can’t wait to see what you pick for this award, I’m sure you’ve got lots to be positive about! 😀

  6. Awww I love the whole idea of the award! And I loved reading your seven things, you sound like an amazing person Beth♥. Also, I remember your baking post and I so wish I didn’t live all the way in Texas because I’d love to try your baking. Thank you so much for the nomination 😊. I might struggle with this myself. It’s not that I’m not positive per say I’m just terrible at talking about myself in this way. If that makes any sense haha.

    1. It’s definitely a great award to make people think a little more positively, something I can have trouble with at times.
And thanks so much Melissa! 💕
Ahh baking is always going to be a love of mine, so if you’re ever in England you’d be welcome to try something I make. 🙂
That’s all right, and yeah that makes sense as well. It’s how I feel a lot and this award was a little bit of a struggle for me. I think once you get started you’ll have more than enough things you can say about yourself though! 🙂

      1. That’s a great idea. I actually used to have a journal that was set up to where you did something like that every day. I wish I still had it.
I’ve always wanted to and I have a feeling I would definitely love it. Hopefully I can one day! 😊

      2. It would be interesting to go back and look at what happened on certain days that you thought was positive. It’s what I’ll do when I’ve been doing mine for a little longer.
Everyone loves England is what I seem to hear from people, but yeah, one day you’ll hopefully get to experience it for yourself! 🙂

  7. I love the whole concept of this award! And thank you very much for the nomination. ❤ I enjoyed reading your answers. You sound like an amazing person. I wish I had more people like you at work. It would definitely make it a less stressful, more positive environment to work in. *hugs*

    1. That’s all right, I can’t wait to see what you pick for this tag! 🙂
It’s felt like a long time coming but yeah, I’m in a place now where I am happy and that’s kind of great on it’s own! 😀
I wish I had more time for baking, as it is it’s a fun hobby for when I have the time, and yeah the results are yummy as well! The best part of baking is getting to eat what you’ve made (the worst is the washing up at the end!) 💕

  8. These are all really great qualities! I’ve always wanted to open up my own bakery or cupcakery, I’m just not as good at baking as I wished I was lol. Maybe you can teach me a few things 😉 Thanks for the tag!

    1. Thanks Megan. Oh I love baking but I’ll leave the bakeries and cupcakeries to the real professionals. I just love making things and once I started I grabbed any recipe I could find that sounded good, practise makes perfect and all that! 🙂
That’s all right, I’m looking forwards to seeing your answers for this one! 😀

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Oh no if you want to start a cupcakery go for it! Follow your dream! 😀 I just meant I personally leave that stuff to the professionals. That way I get to look, wonder and eat the results without dealing with any of the stress if making it perfect myself! 🙂

    1. Thanks Lilly, and yeah I like to think so as well, not sure what my friends would say about me though 😀
Oh as soon as I love something I put every bit of effort I have into it. I think that’s why this blog has lasted as long as it has! 💕
