Wordless Wednesday: Fashion

Wordless Wednesday is a new weekly tag created by Grace at Kimmie.gg. Each week there’s a new topic, unrelated to books, which will hopefully provide some insight into my life outside of reading.

Each week, I will post a topic for a Wordless Wednesday that you may answer in whatever fashion you may like. All you need to do is link back to Kimmie.gg in your post so that I can also read your content!

This week’s theme was Art, and while I normally try and stick to the themes that are set for this one the only artist that came to mind when I thought of my favourites was Vincent Van Gogh. I love going to museums and seeing all the work on display, don’t get me wrong, but I never really seek out specific artist. So instead I decided to focus on fashion, because after all, isn’t fashion a form of art?

So, what do you think; did you take part in this week’s Wordless Wednesday or will you be taking part in next week’s? Also who are your favourite artists; are there any who’s work you think I need to check out next time I’m in a museum, or alternatively who are your favourite fashion designers. Let me know in the comments.

    1. Exactly, and I’m not one for having favourite classic or modern artists but I am a massive fan of fashion and definitely have my favourite designers.
Thanks for the link, I’ll be sure to check out your Wordless Wednesday post.
Yes all those gowns are gorgeous, I think my favourites have to be the ones by Alexander McQueen though. And thanks! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Oh they’re all definitely gorgeous, if only I had the money to buy them and somewhere to wear them as well! ๐Ÿ™‚
He has a lot of other collections out there, but the one I featured in this post is definitely one of my favourites of his.
      And thanks! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. OMG those Alexander McQueen dresses. I look at them and I’m just like PLEASE LET ME HAVE IT but on the other hand, I can never imagine having them. Like on what occasion will I wear them? You can’t attend another wedding/birthday/etc. in them (unless it’s yours, I guess) because they’re too glamourous, I think… so when?

Speaking of wonderful fashion designers, I really like Paolo Sebastian – this is one of my favourite creations of his and it’s just so feminine and pretty! Here is some more. ๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. Alexander McQueen is probably my favourite fashion designer. I just love everything he created. But yeah not really practical for day-to-day life are they? I can’t imagine wearing any of them anywhere I go.
Ohh you’re right Paolo Sebastian is an amazing designer. I think I saw some of his designs in an old issue of Vogue I brought once, it was a while ago but I remember really loving the design of the dresses but also the style in which the photos had been taken (although that aspect was probably more down to the photographer!)

  3. I completely forgot about this week. ๐Ÿ™ˆ I was planning to try the meme out this week, too. Awesome choices! I love your style. I’m one of those rare tomboys who also likes high end fashion. These gowns are so beautiful. If only I could afford them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

      1. I hope you have a great vacation by the way, where are you going?
It’s great you’ll still be posting while you’re away, and it will be great to see what you do with next week’s theme as well!
Oh I’d be the same, I’d never want to wear them for fear of damaging them but I’d stare at them for ages because they’re so gorgeous! ๐Ÿ˜€

      2. Thank you, Beth! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m going to Florida to visit my parents. They live on the Gulf side. It’s really hot down there but it should be fun. I don’t think I’m able to fully detach from blogging even on vacation. I try to do it and I never last more than the weekend. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Dresses like that are more like wearable art. I’ve always wanted to check out New York fashion week, but it’s so exclusive and hard to get into.

      3. God I can only imagine how hot it is for you over in the US. We’re having a bit of a heatwave over here at the moment and I feel like I’m melting at times! But I’m sure it’ll be a great holiday, and nice to have a break as well. Yeah I can’t ever imagine fully detatching from blogging either.
Oh exactly, I can’t imagine going out clubbing or for drinks in Southend one evening and seeing someone in an Alexander McQueen or Zac Posen gown! ๐Ÿ™‚

      4. I’ve heard about your heatwave. My friend complains about the weather in the Midlands all the time. You must have a little more of a breeze on the water. I guess you guys aren’t used to the heat we’re used to here. I can’t detach at all. I try on weekends, but I’m still not that good at staying away. I was even blogging in the airport. ๐Ÿ˜‚ The Internet was spotty so it made it a little tough but I still managed. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d love to see a runway gown in person. That would be so cool. Too elegant to wear out for drinks though.

      5. It doesn’t feel like it most days. I’m so uncomfortable pretty much all the time and I just want summer to be over so the colder weather can arrive (and there’s something I never thought I’d say).
No we’re definitely not used to the heat, if the temperature hits late 20’s it’s cause for great debate in England!
Oh same, it would be amazing to see one close up but I can’t imagine seeing someone wearing one in the streets or anything! ๐Ÿ™‚

      6. I love cold weather. I’ve often thought of moving to England because I think your weather is more suitable for me. Jill and heat do not mix well. I like snow and cold and reading books wrapped in sweaters and blankets with hot chocolate. With all of your amazing travel plans, I wouldn’t be surprised if you ended up at Paris Fashion Week one year. Now that would be amazing.

      7. Well we’ve got plenty of cold weather and plenty of rain as well. We always look forwards to summer over in England but we complain when it arrives. We complain a lot over in England.
God that would be amazing, honestly I’d love to get a chance to go to one of the fashion weeks somewhere in the world. It would literally be a dream come true but I’m not sure how I’d go about getting a ticket there! ๐Ÿ™‚

      8. Haha! Yeah, my friend complains all the time. ๐Ÿ˜‚ It’s too hot or it’s raining or lightning or something. I’m not sure how you get a ticket to those events either. Probably luck and connections and I don’t have either one.
