Before you enter the world of Caraval, you must remember that it’s all a game…

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their ruthless father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the legendary, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

Then, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation to Caraval finally arrives. So, Tella enlists a mysterious sailor’s help to whisk Scarlett away to this year’s show. But as soon as the trio arrives, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nonetheless soon becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with her sister, with Legend, and with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

I discovered this book thanks to a giveaway on Instagram and as soon as I read the blurb I knew it had to go on my to-read list. It sounds like the kind of book I normally love, and on top of that I’m getting a sinister ‘The Night Circus’ feel to Caraval which is only making me more excited for its release.

So what does everyone think; is Caraval a must on anyone else’s to-read list or are there any other books that you can’t wait for to be released?

    1. Oh yes I can’t wait to get my hands on this book either, it definitely sounds like a unique and wonderful concept as well. I would LOVE to get an ARC for this book, I don’t think it’s likely but I can always hope!
      Thanks! 😀

    1. It’s the top of my list now as well! And honestly after featuring it as my WoW I’m just getting more and more excited for it!
The Night Circus is always going to be a hard book to live up to but if Caraval comes close I’ll be very happy! And yeah, I have high expectations as well! 😀

  2. This book LOOKS so beautiful – I’m absolutely in love with the cover. I haven’t read The Night Circus yet, but I am getting the same vibes and I’ve only been hearing good things about that one. Hope you enjoy Caraval when it’s officially released! 😀

    1. Same here, the cover was the first thing that drew me to this book; it’s stunning!
The Night Circus is amazing so any book that kind of reminds me of it always goes to the top of my to-read list. I just hope Caraval is better than the last book I read that was compared to The Night Circus (The Crown’s Game).
Still a long way to go until the release but yeah I am definitely hoping it’s a great books! 😀

      1. If all the people excited for it are anything to go by then I’m sure it’s going to be amazing! But yeah in my mind it already sounds better than The Crown’s Game and I love the cover so much more as well! 🙂

    1. It’s definitely up there on my to-read list as well, and yeah I am definitely loving the cover. God I know, it always seems that way with books, the more excited we are for them the further away the release date is! 🙂

    1. It sounds amazing doesn’t it?! And that cover is so gorgeous, although I think that may be the US one (they normally release the US cover before the UK one, if they’re doing two different covers that is.)
That’s all right 🙂 I really hope you enjoy it when it’s released! 😀

      1. I added it to Goodreads. I’ll be on the look out for its release. That’s possible. Sometimes the covers are the same. I’m always so bummed when the UK cover is awesome and I have this bland cover on my Kindle. But this one is beautiful.

      2. It can be the other way around as well. Like with The Girl From Everywhere the US cover was amazing and I really didn’t like the UK one, so much so that when I ordered my copy I brought it from the US Amazon rather than the UK one!

  3. I wanted to read it when I heard someone mention that it was the young adult version of The Night Circus (which is one of my all time favourite books). So hopefully it will be a good one! 😀
