Update #1

Just a quick post today to announce something very exciting. I finally have an Instagram account!

InstagramYep after blogging for nine months now I’m making my foray into the social media world starting with Instagram.

Does this mean a Goodreads account is in the works for my blog? Possibly but not for a few more days at least. I have YALC this coming weekend, more gifts to buy for #SFATW and a book blog blind date interview to finish; so a lot of things on my plate. However, fingers crossed, before the end of this month I will have a profile up and running on Goodreads. Until then though you can check out my account on Instagram.

  1. I just followed you! πŸ™‚ (I seriously need to start using instagram again, I have really been slacking lately when it comes to taking pictures.)
Now I shall eagerly wait to make a goodreads page as well! πŸ˜‰ I can’t believe that you don’t already have one. I basically use goodreads for everything: keeping track of the books I read, finding new ones and so on.

    1. Thanks Anna! I’ll have to follow you back as well when I’m next on my Instagram account. I can’t say I’ll be updating it too regularly myself, it’s mainly going to be when I have a spare moment to take pictures and to help advance my photography skills a little as well!
Goodreads is next on my list, but it’s going to be a bigger project than Instagram because I have a lot of reviews I need to upload on my profile. Still it will be done! πŸ˜€

      1. I used to post quiet often, but I haven’t done that in a while (for whatever reason). I really hope to post more often soon. πŸ™‚
I can only imagine how much work it’s going to be! I created my account around 3 years ago and even then (when I hadn’t reviewed books) it took me ages to set up. Good luck with it! πŸ˜€

      2. I’m probably not going to post too often either. My first priority is my blog, second will be Instagram, but I’ve enjoyed taking pictures so far πŸ™‚
Yeah, I’ve reviewed a fair few books since I started blogging, I imagine it will be a good month before I’m anywhere near done! πŸ˜€

  2. Followed from my personal account! I don’t really use Instagram and pretty much only lurk maybe like once a week, but I can’t wait to see the photos you take. πŸ™‚

Also I (almost) can’t believe you don’t have a Goodreads account! That site is so helpful for me to find books I want to read and just keep track of my reading in general, haha. Do you not use it at all?

(PS: Next step: TWITTER. No? πŸ˜‚)

    1. Oh thanks Reg! I think I must have followed you back, I don’t know if I’ll use it all too often myself but, well, I think it’s a decent account to start out with and it will definitely help me get some practise at taking photos! πŸ˜€
Goodreads is next on my social media to-do list, I have a personal account but need to create one for my blog. Maybe Twitter one day, for now my next step is focusing on my Instagram account and my upcoming Goodreads one! πŸ˜€

      1. Yay! I hardly ever read physical copies so I just don’t really think bookstagrams are for me, but I love seeing photos people have taken of their shelves and books. I don’t even really have a bookshelf, haha. I keep wanting to post pics I take of my travels and brunchy meals but I dunno, I get lazy. πŸ˜›

Hopefully we’ll see you on Twitter one day! And yay for Goodreads. ❀

      2. I don’t really read physical copies, mainly because it’s a lot more convenient for me to take my Kindle everywhere rather than two books (in case I finish one while I’m out) but I seem to be addicted to buying them! I love seeing the photos as well, they’re all so gorgeous and they just made me want to buy even more books! πŸ™‚
Soon I’ll be on all social media platforms, not just WordPress and now Instagram! But Goodreads is definitely next! πŸ˜€

      3. I have five bookshelves in my room and all of them are filled with books, I’m running out for room but I’ve already run out of room in my bedroom for more bookshelves.
Still it’s not going to stop me buying more books! πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks Lauren, I think I’ve already followed you back. I need to check what bloggers have Instagram so I know who to follow but that’s a task for another day now.
There will be another Update when I have a Goodreads account, hopefully it won’t be too long of a wait either! πŸ˜€

    1. Goodreads is next on my list. As of this moment it was just quicker for me to start an Instagram account so that’s the one I’ve begun with.
I’d recommend Instagram, and when I have Goodreads I will be going around and friend-ing everyone I follow on WordPress! πŸ˜€ We can definitely be Goodreads friends!

  3. I just followed you! You have Instagram! πŸ€— Yay! I love your Harry Potter pics. I just pre-ordered the new Harry Potter book. My Goodreads group is having HP month all August and we’re reading the new book. It’s so exciting!

    1. Thanks Jill, I’ll be sure to follow you back when I’m next on Instagram, right now focusing on WordPress comments! πŸ™‚
And thank you, I’ve pre-ordered the book as well and I am still so excited to get my hands on it. The play was amazing and reading the book will be like reliving it all over again.
Definitely really exciting, I may do a re-read of the HP series myself before starting The Cursed Child! πŸ˜€

      1. I know what you mean. There’s so many accounts to manage as a blogger. I haven’t been on Instagram in a while. I was thinking about doing a HP re-read but I don’t know if I’ll have time before I have to post my review at the end of August. The play must’ve been so exciting to see. I love the theater and Harry Potter.

      2. It’s why I’m starting off slow. Start with Instagram and once I have that down start my Goodreads account. Then I’ll work on managing those before I add any more to the mix. I know loads of bloggers have a Twitter but I’ve never managed to get the hang of that!
I have a lot of books I need to read in the coming months but I do re-read Harry Potter at least once a year, maybe I’ll start it in August.
The play was amazing, it’s made me even more excited for The Cursed Child and even Fantastic Beasts, just anything and everything Harry Potter! πŸ˜€

      3. It’s a lot to manage. I have WordPress, Twitter, Instagram, and Goodreads. My phone is constantly pushing some type of notification. πŸ˜‚ I was originally planning to re-read Harry Potter closer to the winter holidays, but I may need to move that up sooner than planned. I wonder if they plan to eventually have a traveling production that will make it’s way to the US. I sure hope so.

      4. Wow that’s a lot, I have alot of notifications now I’ve added Instagram to the mix, I need to be able to manage them a little better before adding anything else to the mix.
I normally re-read the series around Winter time but with the new book coming out I feel I should read them a little earlier at least!
I was talking to my friend about it and yeah it would be great if they did do a travelling production. But I’ve seen news articles (and I’m not sure if these are accurate) saying they may make a movie out of the play which would be interesting I think! πŸ™‚
