The Playlist Shuffle Tag

I saw this tag on Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books blog and, even though I wasn’t tagged myself I decided to give it a go. After all why should I work on completing some of the tags in my queue when I can post this one instead.

The Playlist Shuffle Tag

I love music; I don’t go anywhere without my iPod in my bag and, if it came down to it, I’d rather leave my Kindle at home before going on a long trip than my iPod. So when I saw this tag I had to take part, and on the plane home from Venice I put my iPod on shuffle and picked the first fifteen songs that played.

Ella Henderson – Ghost

“I keep going to the river to pray
‘Cause I need something that can wash out the pain
And at most
I’m sleeping all these demons away
But your ghost, the ghost of you
It keeps me awake”

Mumford and Sons – Lover of the Light

“I know I’ve tried
I was not stable
And flawed by pride
I miss my sanguine eyes
So hold my hands up – breathe in, and breathe out”

The Script – Anybody There

“Well, if this is the face of a sinner
And if heaven is only for winners
Well, I don’t care
‘Cause I won’t know anybody there”

Linkin Park – No More Sorrow

“I see pain, I see need
I see liars and thieves
Abuse power with greed
I had hope, I believed
But I’m beginning to think that I’ve been deceived”

Snow Patrol – The Lightning Strikes (Parts 1, 2 and 3)

“What if this storm ends?
And leaves us nothing
Except a memory
A distant echo

I want pinned down
I want unsettled
Rattle cage after cage
Until my blood boils”

Avicii – Wake Me Up

“So wake me up when it’s all over
When I’m wiser and I’m older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn’t know I was lost”

Cobra Starship – Prostitution is the World’s Oldest Profession (And I, Dear Madam, Am A Professional)

“Do you know who I am?
Good, neither do I
Got nothing to say
But if you pay me, I can play the fool”

Fall Out Boy – The Kids Aren’t All Right

“And in the end
I’d do it all again
I think you’re my best friend
Don’t you know that the kids aren’t all, kids aren’t alright
I’ll be yours
When it rains it pours
Stay thirsty like before
Don’t you know that the kids aren’t all, kids aren’t alright”

Paramore – Holiday

“Now I get a holiday
Wherever I go I must stay
I don’t plan on coming back”

Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar – Bad Blood

“Band-aids don’t fix bullet holes
You say sorry just for show
You live like that, you live with ghosts
If you love like that blood runs cold”

Fall Out Boy – The Mighty Fall

“The mighty fall
Oh how the mighty fall in love”

Little Mix – I Love You

“I just wanna scream out ’til my voice breaks
Even if the tears fall and my heart hates me
Baby I love you”

Ellie Goulding – Lights

“You show the lights that stop me turn to stone
You shine it when I’m alone
And so I tell myself that I’ll be strong
And dreaming when they’re gone”

Hozier – Arsonist’s Lullabye

“When I was a child, I’d sit for hours
Staring into open flame
Something in it had a power
Could barely tear my eyes away”

Florence and the Machine – Hurricane Drunk

“No calm, nothing to keep me from the storm
And you can’t hold me down
‘Cause I belong to the hurricane
It’s gonna blow this all away”

Albums

So I’m a little disappointed that no Imagine Dragons or Bastille tracks made it on here, also my current favourite songs of the moment didn’t either. However there are two Fall Out Boy tracks which more than make up for all of that (Fall Out Boy is my ultimate favourite band).

I’m not going to tag anyone in this because I wasn’t tagged myself, I just did this on a whim, but if anyone else wants to complete this tag then go for it.

  1. Ahh these are some of my favourite artists! 🙂 Florence and the Machine, The Script, Hozier, Ellie Goulding and Linkin Park. And Mumford and Sons brings back such great memories ❤

      1. Haha same with Mumford and Sons. I haven’t listened to the newest albums, but you’ve reminded me that I need to 🙂

    1. I couldn’t resist! This tag combines two of my love, music and my blog 😀
The Script are amazing aren’t they, while this isn’t my favourite song (I think it’s between Six Degrees of Separation and Breakeven) I do really love the album it came from. Fall Out Boy are my favourite band so I was so glad two of their songs managed to make it into this tag, same goes for Taylor Swift too 🙂

    1. I probably could match all the songs with books if I had enough time, for example I think Fall Out Boy’s The Kids Aren’t All Right could fit well with I’ll Give You the Sun, especially when Noah and Jude are 16 (I kinda wish I’d thought of doing this before posting the tag now!
Thank you, a few of these are actually favourite songs of mine so I’m thrilled they made it onto this tag! 🙂

      1. It’s not your fault haha. I actually think I’ve seen a version of this tag with matched books – so I kind of assumed it was going to be that one. It’s still a fun tag. 😃

      2. I did it as a TTT post one week, picked ten songs and matched them with characters/books. I just didn’t think of it for this one but now you’ve mentioned it I’m definitely gonna be on the look out for the version of this tag that does match books with songs 😀

      3. Maybe it was actually the TTT post that I saw … I don’t know, I get really confused about tags all the time haha.

    1. It was from their very first album (it’s not my favourite of their songs but it’s still a really good one!) I am loving the more recent Fall Out Boy releases (kinda glad I got two from their newest albums in this tag!) and definitely Florence and the Machine too! 😀
