The Get to Know Me Tag

I saw this tag on Marie at Drizzle and Hurricane Books blog and, even though I wasn’t tagged myself I decided to give it a go. After all why should I work on completing some of the tags in my queue when I can post this one instead.

The Get to Know Me Tag

The photo of me is from my March trip to Edinburgh. It was taken just after reaching the top of Arthur’s Seat on a really sunny and really windy day so I probably don’t look my best but honestly climbing to the top was such an achievement for me, and in the end I think it’s a decent enough photo too.

Vital Stats

Name: Bethany. No one calls me that unless they’re angry with me though!

Nicknames: Beth is obviously the one everyone uses. My sister calls me Bee and someone I used to work with called me Bevvo (please no one else use this one).

Birthday: 14th June.

Star Sign: Gemini.

Occupation: At the moment I am an Allocator for Marks & Spencer. I have just completed my Level 2 though so if that is signed off (fingers crossed) I am hopeful that I can move into either Buying or Merchandising. I haven’t worked out which I’d prefer yet.

Appearance

Hair Colour: A shade between blonde and brown.

Hair Length: Right now a couple of inches past my shoulders. I am trying to grow it longer though so that answer will change in a couple of months.

Eye Colour: Blue.

Best Feature: I’m going to say my hair. Whenever I go and get it cut or styled I always get complimented on the shade or the thickness of my hair.

Piercings: Three in each ear and one in my belly button.

Tattoos: Nope, there are some really gorgeous designs that I’ve seen but I don’t think I’d suit one.

Right or Left: I’m right handed.

Firsts

Best Friend: Sophie. She was born one day after me so I think we became friends because our mums got chatting in the hospital. We grew up together but eventually we realised we weren’t actually that close and just drifted apart.

Award: I got a Duckling Award for completing the Grade 2 ASA Duckling Swimming Award Scheme (I have no clue now what this is).

Sport: I’ve ever been a big sports person but I think it was netball. I was Goal Defence on the netball team in high school.

Real Holiday: Every year when I was a child, ever since I was four, me and my family went to Cromer, Norfolk for a week or two. When I was younger it was my favourite place. My first holiday outside of the UK was to Costa Del Sol, Spain.

Concert: My mum took me and my sister to see Busted because she (my sister) was obsessed with them. I can’t remember much about the concert but I do remember getting to leave school early to get there on time.

Favourites

Some of these, film and book mainly, I can’t possibly pick my all-time favourite so I’m going with my favourite for 2016.

Film: Captain America Civil War. Has anyone else seen this yet, if so please come and fangirl with me over this film because I saw it on Thursday and I am still not over it yet.

Captain America Civil War

TV Show: iZombie. Previously I would have said Supernatural, which don’t get me wrong I still love and always will, but honestly season two of iZombie has completely beaten season 11 of Supernatural, hands down.

iZombie

Colour: Blue.

Song: The most played track on my iPod is Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Lorde so I’m gonna say that’s my favourite.

Restaurant: Mangetout. It’s an American bar/grill restaurant in Southend and it has, hands down, the best food I have ever eaten.

Shop: Waterstones. Of course it had to be a bookstore.

Books: So far for this year The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi.

The Star-Touched Queen

Currently

Feeling: Tired. I have a little bit of a headache as well but for me that’s kind of the norm.

Single or Taken: Single.

Eating: Cadbury Crunchie Rocks

Thinking About: Going back to work tomorrow. Blogging. Things I still need to get done today.

Watching: CSI. The original one in Las Vegas, not the New York or Miami ones. Original series for the win right?

Wearing: Pyjamas and really fluffy socks.

Future

Want Children: At the moment no but never say never I guess

Want to be Married: Same as above.

Careers in Mind: Honestly I’m not sure, currently it’s moving up to become a Buyer or Merchandiser  but that could change a couple of years down the line. I’m keeping my options open.

Where You Want to Live: In the UK, and also hopefully one day, London. In the whole world either New York, Amsterdam or San Francisco.

Travel

Do You Believe In…

God: No.

Miracles: I’ve never really thought about it much before but I’d like to believe they do.

Love at First Sight: No. Lust at first sight yes but not love.

Ghosts: No.

Aliens: Yes. There’s so much of the universe we haven’t discovered I can’t believe that we are the only intelligent life out there.

Soul Mates: Yes. I think it’s a really nice idea but it’s something that has to grow between two people over time. I don’t think it’s a case of seeing someone for the first time and knowing that they’re it for you. I believe there are loads of possible people who could be someone’s soul mate, it’s just through time spent together and knowledge of one another that two people become soul mates.

Heaven: No.

Hell: No.

Kissing on the First Date: I think it depends on the situation and the people on the date.

Yourself: Yes. I think it’s been a long time coming but I’ve got a lot more confidence and faith in myself now.

Well congratulations if you made it all the way to the end of this post! I really hoped you liked learning more about me.

I’m not going to tag anyone in this because I wasn’t tagged myself, I just did this on a whim, but if anyone else wants to complete this tag then go for it. Send me a link to your post so I can get to know you in return.

  1. Aw, I loved reading this 😃 So glad you decided to post this, Beth!

I really want to see Civil War! I’m hoping to be able to do it soon-ish. It looks like it’s gonna be so good!

I started watching iZombie and loved it, but then I got in a TV slump and haven’t watched it in so long. I definitely want to try and catch up though!

And that Lorde song is so good!!

    1. Thanks so much Lauren 😀 I’m glad you liked this post so much!
Oh my god you definitely need to see Civil War soon! It was so completely amazing I can’t even begin to describe it. The best of the Marvel movies I’ve seen so far!
Where did you get up to in iZombie then? The season two finale was brilliant beyond words, so much happened and it ended on such a cliffhanger that I really really need the third season now!

      1. Season one is good but oh god season two is so much better. The stakes are a lot higher for Liv and I LOVED the season two sequel so much more than the season one one. I cannot wait for season three now!

    1. That’s all right ❤️ I’m glad you liked this tag. And yeah we were really lucky it was such a nice day when we climbed Arthur’s Seat, the view from the top was breathtaking and well worth all the work it took to get to the top! 😀

  3. I love this post, thanks for sharing your answers!

I’m contemplating starting iZombie but I’m really bad with blood/body parts/etc. Grey’s Anatomy was at times too much for me to handle, haha. I’m currently watching Modern Family and might be starting The Mindy Project.

Haha, I used to have a Waterstones member card and I think I still have it somewhere! That was my favourite shop too when I was living in the UK… but then again, any bookstore would’ve been. And living in London would be AMAZING, except that weekends in the CBD get crazy busy and I hate literally bumping into people when I walk. 😛

    1. Thanks area! I’m glad you liked my answers so much.
Oh I would recommend starting iZombie, I wouldn’t even say it was that bloody either, but you may have a different opinion if Grey’s Anatomy was too much for you. I love Modern Family, haven’t started The Mindy Project but I’ve seen it around a lot, maybe I’ll get around to it one day!
I still have my Waterstones member card, I actually used it the other week as well! Yeah it’s the same with my, I think any bookstore would be my favourite. Oh I’m the same not a big fan of crowds so yeah I’d probably find London crazy busy at times if I lived there!

  4. I loved getting to know you a bit better ❤ And YAY for pushing over old tags, I do that old the time, I think I have tags waiting up from February, oups? I swear I'm so bad at this hahaha.
We have London and Amsterdam in common so that's cool 😀 If not live there, I'd at least want to visit some day.

    1. Thanks ❤️ I’m glad you enjoyed this tag so much! 😀
My oldest tag is from about a month and a half ago, so mid-March basically. I’m thinking I need to start posting two a week or something to try and catch up! I am just very slowly making my way through the list!
Both places are amazing! I may be biased a little because I live near and work in London but it’s such a beautiful city, and the same goes for Amsterdam. It’s probably my favourite places I’ve visited so far! I hope you do get to visit them one day at least! 😀

      1. You’re welcome ❤
And yeah that’s actually what I’m doing right now, posting them twice a week until I catch up and then reduce the amount, I don’t know if it’s annoying to people but that’s alright😂 I have fun doing all the tags !
Thank you, I hope so too 😊

      2. I’ve only been posting one a week so far so I think doubling that will help get through them a little faster. I don’t find it annoying when I see tags, I love reading the answers people have put for theirs so from my point of view post as many a week as you want 😀

  5. Yay for doing random tags! Also I saw the new Captain America just yesterday and it was SO GOOD. I will never stop shipping Steve and Bucky haha. x

    1. Oh my god that movie was amazing wasn’t it! I was pretty much clued to the screen the whole time. I loved the banter between Sam and Bucky, and the whole fight scene in the airport was brilliant because Scott and Spider-Man were AMAZING!
I’m the same I am definitely shipping Steve and Bucky, no matter what the movie universe does they are my ultimate Marvel ship!

      1. Honestly I’m not the biggest superhero fan, but The Avengers are so great! I’ve loved all the movies so far. And I especially loved how human everyone was in Civil War. I mean, I literally could understand everyone’s POV. That, to me, is what makes great characters.
Haha because I’m not a big superhero fan they are actually my ONLY Marvel ship!

        Liked by 1 person

      2. I was actually probably the same, before the Avengers I wasn’t the biggest fan but now I really am! Seriously anything Marvel related and I am there!
Oh I know what you mean, that was the best thing about Civil War even if you agreed more with Tony or Steve’s side of things you could still see where the other was coming from. And then there was Bucky and the Black Panther who didn’t really have a massive part in the whole Accords argument but where still great characters with very real motivations behind their actions.
I have a few more Marvel ships, but Steve and Bucky are definitely my main one 😀

      3. I just love Bucky. How he feels bad for what he’s done but also knows it’s not his fault … ah, they’re all such wonderful characters! And of course I adore Black Widow! I also thought Wanda was amazing, such a sweet girl.

        Liked by 1 person

      4. Oh god the same! The whole of Captain America: The Winter Soldier I was so excited to see Bucky again and for Steven to see Bucky and realise who he actually was!
I think Wanda is my favourite of the new Avengers (Captain America is my favourite Avenger in general) and yeah I love Black Widow as well 😀

    1. Thanks, I’m so glad you liked this tag! Are you thinking of doing it, or have you been tagged in it! It’d be interested to learn more about you!
Oh you have no idea what you are missing? I love Cadbury Crunchie Rocks. It’s essentially just pieces of honeycomb covered in chocolate but they are so good! 😀

      1. I have a huge list of tags I need to catch up on already, but I might end up adding this one to it. 😀

Oh man, that sounds delicious. Time to go see if we have anything sweet in the house, I think.

  6. I am SO glad you decided to do this, and that picture of you is so lovely! ❤ I loved getting to know you a bit more, and the cities you said you want to live in, YES! I loved NY and Amsterdam, I haven't been to San Francisco yet, but it seems gorgeous! ❤ To be honest, if I could choose, I'd choose London 😛

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Thanks so much Marie ❤️ and I’m glad you liked the picture as well!
Well I thought why not for this one 😀 it seemed like a lot of fun when you did it and I guess it’s nice sharing things about you with other people as well! 😀
Oh San Francisco is amazing, I’d definitely recommend going there. I actually liked it a little more than New York, although I think Amsterdam is my favourite of the three. Yeah out of all of them London is a lot more likely the one I’ll end up living in just because of my job.

      1. It’s really nice, well I’m always a bit shy when talking about myself, but I’m glad I did, it’s so great to find people thinking just like you. And I feel like we have a lot in common from that post, and that answer for the Aliens question, yes, why would we be alone? Even if it’s scary to think so, ahah.
Ohh, really? I’m definitely going there soon, hopefully, it’s a city I’d love to visit, it sounds absolutely gorgeous ❤

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Oh I am incredibly shy in person, I think I just find it easier to talk to people online because there’s less pressure than face to face (if that makes sense). Oh definitely, and yeah we can’t be alone in the universe, there’s so much still undiscovered and one day we’ll definitely find life out there (or NASA will)
It’s so beautiful, I really hope you love it there, do you have any specific date yours going there or more of a general plan?

      3. I love planning holidays, when I know where I’m going I look at all the sites I can see while I’m there and I plan a rough itinerary. I’m not sure where I’m going next but hopefully I’ll have something worked out soon-ish.

      4. I just got back from Venice and I’m always excited to plan my next holiday! Not sure when or where exactly but I know it’ll be a beach holiday rather than a city break and I’m just already excited to spend an afternoon reading on the beach in the sun 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      5. I think one of my favourite holidays was Cancun a couple of years ago, I spend days on the beach just lying in the sun, reading, occasionally going up to the bar for more drinks! Don’t get me wrong I do prefer city break holidays but every so often a beach holiday just sounds so much better, a chance to relax for a change 🙂

      6. I think when I’m at home I do the whole lazy procrastination relaxation thing. I always have so much I say I need to get done but of course none of it ever comes to anything. When I’m on holiday on a beach all I want to do is read and all I do is read. Tends to work better for me that way 🙂 and that’s not to say I don’t go exploring on beach holidays. The last one me and my friend went on we did so many excursions we didn’t have much time on the beach at all!
