The Sunshine Blogger Award

I hadn’t actually seen this award around before I was nominated for it, but I was thrilled to be nominated and even more thrilled to discover rather than giving facts about myself there were questions for me to answer. I am running very low on facts I can share about myself.

I was nominated for this award by Brigitte at The Book and The Bone. Thanks so much for the nomination Brigitte, I was thrilled to receive this one and excited to post it on my blog.

Brigitte’s Questions

1. Do you have a favourite poem?

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I don’t really believe in God, or the idea of heaven and hell, so for me the idea that even after you’re gone people can still see you in the simple but beautiful parts of the world is something I really like.

2. Which book universe would not want to live in?

Westeros. Don’t get me wrong I love the A Song of Ice and Fire books but it does not sound like a nice place to live, or even to visit, and the way most characters go I’d probably end up dead before long anyway.

3. If you could study anything, what would it be?

Magic. I’d love to go to a school like Hogwarts and study all the things Harry, Ron and Hermione did; Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination. I’d be just like Hermione I think; always with my head in a book and top marks in the classes because who wouldn’t love to learn everything they possibly could about magic.

4. Favourite subject at school?

Drama. I always wished I carried it on as a GCSE, I loved the lessons and I think it was something that I was actually good at.

5. Least favourite subject at school?

Maths. Up until my GCSEs it was my worst subject at school, and even after I started to improve it was still a struggle for me to understand parts of it.

6. Would you rather live forever or be guaranteed a spot in paradise when you die?

I’d pick live forever. I’d love to be able to experience history as it happened, and I’d also be able to keep an eye on all my descendants and see them grow up which I think would be nice.

7. Favourite non-canon pairing?

It’s actually a tie between Iko and Kinney from Winter by Marissa Meyer and Ziri and Liraz from Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. There was definitely something between both couples, and I loved the hints we got of possibly something deeper that could develop between them. I’d love to read a book, hell I’d settle for a novella, about both couples.

8. What was the first fandom you became really invested in?

Besides Harry potter, probably The Mediator series by Meg Cabot. My friends and I spent hours talking about the books in class when she should have been working, I went on book buying sprees when I discovered the series and I was so excited for the sixth book to be released. My first book crush was on Jesse.

9. Do you like watching horror films?

Not really. I’m a massive wimp so I hate jump scares and any films where there is excessive amounts of blood and gore. The last horror film I saw in the cinema I watched from behind my hands and I couldn’t even stay until the end; I left halfway through because it was so horribly gory.

10. Favourite literary trope?

I will always read any books that contain time travel of fairytale influences. I also love reading anything with magic or fantastical worlds and settings, and I love cute romance stories.

11. What’s your favourite English accent?

I wouldn’t say I have a favourite one. One of the people I work with is from Scotland and she has a really nice accent but I also love my own just because it sounds like home.
