Waiting on Wednesday: Strange the Dreamer

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which shines a light on eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.

This week my pick is;

Strange the Dreamer

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton

Release Date: 29th September 2016

Goodreads

A breathtaking new novel by National Book Award finalist and New York Times bestselling author Laini Taylor.

Strange the Dreamer is the story of:

the aftermath of a war between gods and men.
a mysterious city stripped of its name.
a mythic hero with blood on his hands.
a young librarian with a singular dream.
a girl every bit as perilous as she is imperilled.
alchemy and blood candy, nightmares and godspawn, moths and monsters, friendship and treachery, love and carnage.

Welcome to Weep.

Laini Taylor is one of my all-time favourite authors; I loved her Daughter of Smoke and Bone series and after discovering she has a new book coming out it went to the top of my to-read list. The blurb sounds so amazing and the cover is gorgeous, and if Strange the Dreamer is anything like Daughter of Smoke and Bone I can guarantee I’m going to love the story as well.

So what does everyone think; is Strange the Dreamer a must on anyone else’s to-read list or are there any other books that you can’t wait for to be released?

    1. I know right!? It seems like everything on my to-read list is being released in September and all I can think is why must it be so long away still. And yep, this is going to be one of my ‘start as soon as it arrives’ books. I am going to be so excited to finally read it!

  2. This sounds like it’s going to be an amazing read! I haven’t read any of her work yet but the synopsis is intriguing in and of itself. Can’t wait to see what you think about it once it’s released 🙂

    1. I feel like this is going to be one of my most-anticipated reads for the year. I’m already so excited to get my hands on it and there’s still so long to go until it’s released. I would recommend Laini Taylor’s other series, it’s brilliant, and I will definitely be posting a review for this as soon as I get and read it 😀

  3. It’s definitely one I want to check out. The premise sounds amazing and the cover is beautiful! Though I haven’t read anything by Laini Taylor yet. I do want to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, though I don’t even own the book yet. Hopefully I’ll get around to it some time soon! 😀

    1. It sounds like it’s gonna be an epic must read for me, I agree 😀
I love Laini Taylor so even before this book had a cover or a blurb it was a must buy for me. But oh I would definitely recommend the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, it is one of my favourites and so beautifully written.
