Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which shines a light on eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.

This week my pick is;

Three Dark Crowns

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

Publisher: Harper Teen

Release Date: 20th September 2016

Goodreads

Fans of acclaimed author Kendare Blake’s Anna Dressed in Blood will devour her latest novel, a dark and inventive fantasy about three sisters who must fight to the death to become queen.

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomach-ache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.

The last queen standing gets the crown.

I really enjoyed the Goddess War series Kendare Blake wrote and honestly Three Dark Crowns sounds even better, I can’t wait to get my hands on it. So what does everyone think; is Three Dark Crowns a must on anyone else’s to-read list or are there any other books that you can’t wait for to be released?

      1. I’m not a fan of love triangles at all, and the one in the Goddess War series was not a good one, I honestly felt it was just to add tension between two of the characters. There have been books where the love triangle works they’re rare but hopefully there’s more out there!
